LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

Very pleased with that performance. We look a far better team with Milner in instead of Henderson.
Sterling aside, I was pretty impressed with everyone.
Sterling really looked like he didn't give a shit imo.
Clyne was impressive. Johnson should never get another game now. Lallana did really well too I thought.
Cracking game really, fair bit of entertainment.

& a mention for the officials - thought they were really good.

Me at work tomorrow.

Enjoy, but there's an irony in your gif having a scottish actor in it...

Slept through both matches today... didn't miss much, it seems.

That's the sort of 'friendly' I'll happily sit through. It helps when there's a bite to the fixture it seems. Thought we played really well, totally agree with Milner/Clyne impressing.

Won't be long now before Rooney beats Charlton's record......

Aldershot 0-0 Pompey HT

Portsmouth looking slightly sharper in the first half,a couple of decent chances.

Also pink ball.

Aldershot takes the lead 10 mins from time!

Play land of hope and glory or jerusalem then. I fail to see why you are expecting respect. Especially Wembley has been a bastion of respect for the opposition anthem for years.

England were told by Fifa if they did not stop there would be sanctions for the last 5 years we have respected everyone's national anthem even the scots

Have to say, I popped into the pub Tuesday before the game for a quick pint to see some pals, they talked me into staying for the game, thoroughly enjoyed it, locally the scots fans are unhappy said England fans were anti Scottish :sarcastic-chairbang

I loved the game best I have seen from England for years, the first goal was stunning Superb guiding header, should have scored more and really hammered them.

I really enjoyed the 3rd though, for there one the pub erupted, and then 2 minutes later, I was bouncing around the place screaming at the top of my voice, the scots were all sat there looking, fan fucking tastic

your anti Englishness spews out like bile

You calling someone out for spouting 'bile' about a country?

Now that's fucking rich!

I mean taking away that what i've said is hardly 'bile', England were certainly two goals up thanks to a fair bit of good fortune on both counts, but look at some of the nonsense you've come out with about other nations in the past, now that's an example of 'bile', some of your hate filled, frankly racist rants would've caused even the mighty Farage to blush.

Nothing was wrong with the build up to the first goal to find a man free in the area with just the keeper to beat. He maybe didn't get the connection on the header that he may have wanted to but I wouldn't call it lucky. Good build up, good ball into the box, great run, good goal.

Scotlands left back is a far better player with the ball than without it, something Wolves fans think applies to our current right back Matt Doherty.

Marks post was hardly anti-English. He was making an observation about the football team.

You pro-actively slag off Ireland, Scotland and Wales and hilariously once attempted to rewrite Irish history to justify your own warped attitude to any nation that isn't England. If anyone is spewing bile it's you.

The goal overall was the result of a good move but the finish was extremely fortunate, he mistimed the header and it could've gone anywhere as a result, takes nothing away from the ball in from Wilshere which was fantastic but the good fortune still plays a large part in the goal for me.

Either way, hardly anti-English bile to suggest such a thing is it?

It's often the mishits that go in. Lampard has made a career out of scuffs through defenders legs into the bottom corner.

Doesn't make them any less fortunate, even the more spectacular efforts like Rooney's shinned overhead against City a few years back or the downright weird like Hernandez kicking the ball up into his own face to send it in.

It doesn't but that is the game. If he gets a decent contact on it it goes straight to keeper or over bar and we wouldn't have this discussion.

If Chris Martins chance against Ireland he gets less on and does a 'Lampard' he scores and it trickles in far corner and everyone says good finish. Unfortunately he hit cleanly and it goes wide. You can say everything is fortunate if you break It down. It was a good ball which he tried to get something on, and he did and it found the corner. Good goal. If you don't buy a ticket you can't win the raffle.

I wouldn't say you could argue everything comes down to fortune, sometimes you see things just go perfectly to plan, like the last 2 goals in the game both well thought out moves that lead to goals, no real good fortune in there just good football.
