Great ball but looking at the slow motion replay i think the header is a bit lucky, didn't seem to time it right at all and he's just got fortunate with it skimming off the top of his head and in.

Agree with that - it just seemed to skid off his head - could easily have gone wide

How nice to have a right back who understands the concept of positioning.

Clyne has improved massively on his positioning in the last 12 months, there were quite a few times last season where he got caught. Surely now if he's fit then we won't see Glen Johnson in an England shirt anymore.

+1

Clyne has been superb vs Anya. Cancelled out Scotland's biggest threat.

Well done to England's travelling support as well. I was critical of the home support on Saturday so I've got to praise it today. Completely outsung Scotland at Parkhead.

So far, so good.

Really think that England look a far better team because of it too. Not trying to cover themselves on that side of the pitch, even against Anya who has been in great form for Scotland. Clyne has done really well against him, would like him to be less hesitant in possession though.

Think the shape is quite good and that Wilshere is having a good game, he's looking good in that role. He doesn't do that nonsense Gerrard does of sitting between th two centre backs when England have the ball and he has stopped their supply to Naismith and Martin pretty well.

If you replace Milner and Downing (both very poor in the first half IMO) with Barkley and Sterling, moving Chamberlain inside, I think it would be decent team with players in midfield who can receive under pressure and not panic.

it's quite interesting how they let Scotland make the mistakes they are making, they've played it out quite well. They let them have possession up until around the half way line and if they get any further they are quite quick to shut down and close off the space.

Probably the best I've seen Rooney play for England for a while too.

Lalana on for Downing at Half Time
Jagielka on for Cahill
Fletcher (Darren) on for Scotland for Martin
Morrison on for Scott Brown
Craig Gordon on in goal

Should be the last we ever see of Downing in an England shirt.

Darren Fletcher and James Morrison coming on.

Only took Craig Gordon a minute and a half on his return to concede!

45 for Rooney now?

Robertson not really covering himself in glory on either goal.

Mulgrew gives away a free kick with a very cynical foul, which if not a friendly could well have been red, but is suitably punished

4 away from equalling Bobby Charlton, won't take him too long at this rate. Be there by the end of this Qualifying Tournament
