LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

Pretty easy day at the office in the end for Real Madrid, even with Isco and HAMES (apart from the assist) rather poor.

Ludogorets beating Basel is good news for Liverpool. Still don't think they'll qualify though.

Is Souness' thing to slate a ridiculously good Real Madrid player and then get proved very wrong? First Modric the '5-a-side player', then Rodriguez? The man talks so much rubbish

Agree, I think they'll need some luck if they are to qualify. Top two from Premier League struggling in Europe. I know Liverpool finished second courtesy of Suarez but it shows how far behind it is in terms of world class talent in compared to Spain and Germany's top teams.

What did he say about Rodriguez?

'He has it all to prove' or something like that, as if he didn't absolutely smash it at Porto and Monaco as well as the World Cup.

What did he say about Rodriguez?

I didn't see but apparently he said the jury is out and that he doesn't rate him, then while I was watching analysis Carragher said 'I know Graeme wasn't keen before the goal but what a pass for the first goal'

Typical, not seen a lot of him so has it all to prove. I hate that so many pundits have no fucking idea.

Souness is fucking Liverpool-blind. Probably a Mod on RAWK.

This a POOR Liverpool side and 3-0 was a very lucky escape.

It's frustrating how people are allowed to spout rubbish on the basis that they were good at football. Have they ever had a pundit who wasn't a footballer? I can't remember what it was (they had Hodgson and the FA guy) talking about England's world cup preparations and Jonathan Wilson seemed to know his stuff.

Agree. MOTD are particularly bad for it IMO, the likes of Alan Shearer, Robbie Savage and Dion Dublin are just painful to listen to. I enjoy listening to pundits like Gabriele Marcotti and James Richardson who never played football. Kelly Cates and Jacqui Oatley routinely outshine their male ex-pro co-workers as well.

Agree, I also think Gabby Logan is a good presenter, but only ever fills in on MOTD. I

A simple question. Was Balotelli that bad? And if so, what has gone wrong? A few years back it looked like the world was his oyster. But tonight Liverpool looked a better team without him.

I'm not sure he was Frank, i thought he did ok in the first half considering he's never a lone striker and was isolated quite a lot. He's Balotelli though and therefore an easy target when in all fairness Liverpool have far bigger problems than him. Rodgers knew what he was getting when he signed him and it's up to him to either get the best out of him somehow or get rid as soon as possible.

He's always had around a 1:5 ratio of good : bad displays and when he is bad he is horrific. However none of this is news and I'm not sure what Rodgers was expecting. He is as far removed from Suarez as you can get, they really should have signed Remy instead.

On non-footballer pundits; I really rate Philippe Auclair, Sid Lowe, Raf Honigstein and Tim Vickery.

Sums up his time at Liverpool for me. Not all his fault but not doing enough, either. Altidore-esque.
