Will be on the bench for sure, but considering Nuno put Hoever on ahead of him, even in the cup, suggests he won’t use him if he doesn’t have toCorbeanu might get a chance now, he's probably our next in line wide player
If you aren't going to play MGW now then I don't know why he's at the clubDoes that screw 4-2-3-1 now? Unless he plays MGW or Vitinha it'll be 4-3-3 or back to a back three.
I'm hoping Hoever will be at RB but I get what you're sayingWill be on the bench for sure, but considering Nuno put Hoever on ahead of him, even in the cup, suggests he won’t use him if he doesn’t have to
Entirely correct. The fact Vitinha is getting on ahead of him at the moment though is not a good sign for him.If you aren't going to play MGW now then I don't know why he's at the club
Tbf most recently he’s just had COVID but he’s had a full week of training now, so should be ready for some minutes. Before that he seemed to be ahead of VitinhaEntirely correct. The fact Vitinha is getting on ahead of him at the moment though is not a good sign for him.
Forgot about the Covid. Guess tomorrow will tell us more.Tbf most recently he’s just had COVID but he’s had a full week of training now, so should be ready for some minutes. Before that he seemed to be ahead of Vitinha
I agree with your team but it will be a flat midfield 3 to try and cope with their midfieldRui
Semedo Boly Coady Kilman (Hoever)
Donk Neves
MGW
Traore WJ Neto
I’d be disappointed if it’s anything but that tbh. Harsh on Moutinho but the first half this week showed we need more energy in there. MGW should offer workrate and energy too if nothing else (hopefully technical ability as well though) and Mark Albrighton isn’t Bukayo Saka so with the increased energy and mobility in midfield, less wastefulness in possesion and slight adjustments in pressure and defensive line then he shouldn’t be anywhere near as exposed.
In which case you know it will be Moutinho.I agree with your team but it will be a flat midfield 3 to try and cope with their midfield
Yeah but the problem is we don't even have the choice now.. Neto and Adama are going to have to play every game and if either of those 2 get injured,.we are going to have to change the formation.. again.Bit of a red herring to talk about it impacting on wide positions. By and large we haven't been using him there for about three months, only the odd game here and there. He's been mostly central in behind the striker or we've played that crappy false nine which never ever works.
* incoming laughing face ‘like’ from Johnny for agreeing with me *Yeah but the problem is we don't even have the choice now.. Neto and Adama are going to have to play every game and if either of those 2 get injured,.we are going to have to change the formation.. again.
If we are playing 4-2-3-1 going forward and Podence is playing the 10 then all of Neto, Adama and Podence are on the pitch so we are definitely short in those positions - any signing wouldnt be coming in as fourth, fifth or sixth choice they'd get game time straight away even if off the bench. It's 16 games (plus the cup). They've got all summer to get over it (well, apart from the Euros. Maybe. Although I doubt Adama will get picked)
You have to balance these things out, we can't be forever holding fourth, fifth and sixth choice players just in case. It's a waste of money, it means you get unhappy or unmotivated people in the squad and the manager doesn't even want that balance.
Raul will be back next season and I think we may well end up in a 4-2-4 style formation with Neto and Adama wide. Drops into a 4-5-1 when not in possession. We’d then have 3 for the wide positions and Raul can play a wide forward role if necessary. Would like to see another player come in but I don’t think it’s top of the list.If we are playing 4-2-3-1 going forward and Podence is playing the 10 then all of Neto, Adama and Podence are on the pitch so we are definitely short in those positions - any signing wouldnt be coming in as fourth, fifth or sixth choice they'd get game time straight away even if off the bench.
I'd say there's Lidl chance of him leaving tbhI think we may have a battle on our hands to keep Netto at the club
Aldi hype is a little premature imo, he needs a bit more time playing regularly. Asda club don’t have to sell this summer i think he will stay.I'd say there's Lidl chance of him leaving tbh
