Leicester (A) 22/12: Build Up & Match Thread

Leicester struggling to score Wolves struggling to keep under 3 goals a game. Can't have both. As a newer supporter I think the bounce from a new manger will be significant enough to win a game. Wolves have to score first, but if he sets up defensive to prevent a 3-goal barrage how do wolves win? Guess that's why I'll watch.

We have good enough players that we can create without needing to be a worse version of Marschball.

While i have predicted 2-2, i am nowhere near expecting a win, even a narrow loss won't put my wrists at risk.
It has after all been 3 training sessions so vic won't know everybody's name yet, BUT...
What i want from this game is to look at the players eyes and see a distinct change from the previous 4 games. I want to see them talking and shouting at each other throughout the game, bollocking if necessary, and some serious physicality from players other than our two pit bulls.
I want to see wolves players doing the pushing and grabbing when marking for corners against us, and attacking the cross like heat seeking missiles, not nuns.
If i see this then i think vic will do a good job.
It's simply seeing Gon's influence totally gone, and Vic in charge and being heard.
Not a lot to ask really, after all, if he ain't scared the shit out of these players in 3 training sessions, he never will.
He can get his sytems in place with time, as long as they know who's boss...NOW!

6 more hours or so of misplaced optimism. I’ve got to say it’s been a radical improvement on previous months, so I’m going to enjoy the remainder.
Think a lot of us are nervously optimistic, while realising Vitor has only had a couple of training sessions and the players confidence is very fragile. Hopefully he can get their heads in the right place and have them understanding some kind of plan.

Having thought about it some more I think Vito will go for something structurally safe which gives us a chance at both ends of the pitch for his first game.

We haven't got enough fit or available defenders to play a five so it'll be a tried and tested 4-3-3 IMO. Three in CM to give us some kind of grip on the middle of the park away from home, and as many players in the front three capable of scoring goals.

................... Johnstone

Semedo - Bueno - Dawson - Toti

........Lemina - Andre - Gomes

........Hwang - Larsen - Cunha

I think that team ticks all the boxes in terms of a safe tlas possible team with numbers in the middle that can help protect the back four, but with potential for goals. The only change might be Hwang for Forbs/Rodrigo if he wants some pace on one of the wings. Leicester's full-backs aren't performing great at the minute so that could be an option.

Oh and from what I can gather it sounds like Danny Ward may have to go in goal for them today as Hermansen is still injured. Which is good news for us as Ward is worse than either of our two GKs and their fans hate him.

You changing your avatar any time soon, mate? 😉

He might just pot Johnstone for good and go with Sa for the duration. What a fiasco that chapter has been.

Might be 5 at the back R Gomes as right wing back, Doherty as left wing back and Semedo at centre back.

4-2-3-1 it looks like to me.

............................Sa

Semedo - Bueno - Toti - Doherty

.................Andre - Gomes

.......Guedes - Cunha - Rodrigo

......................Larsen

Subs: Johnstone, Hwang, Dawson, Doyle, Forbs, Bellegarde, Meupiyou, Cundle & Lima.

Gonna need some serious new manager bounce with that starting XI.

Although looking at Leicester's starting XI maybe not.

He’s gone Portuguese heavy, which is to be expected I guess.

Hasn’t turned out too badly for us in the past.

They haven't had the decency to pick Faes to help us out.

Coady's first appearance against us since February 2015 for Huddersfield.
