We’ve had this discussion before. I’m bored of him saying the same shite every week to then serve up something like we saw at West Ham come matchday. What do you want him to say?
"Yeah, bit sick of this season to be honest - no point trying to win with the shit squad I've got and to be honest with you, I was tempted to play myself at right back due to the shitehawks I've got to choose from.
In fact, fuck it - I'm taking them to the local arcades instead this weekend"?

I’d rather he said what you’ve written above!
Why not. I think the player with what appears to be 3 arms is Coady merged into RaulIs that Rúben Vinagre at the back?

Yeah but genuinely what do you want him to say. He can't just not turn up and he can't say 'Yeah Sa is a cunt but he's the only keeper we've got'.We’ve had this discussion before. I’m bored of him saying the same shite every week to then serve up something like we saw at West Ham come matchday.

It’s obviously stupid moaning about a press conference when he hadn’t said anything inflammatory. But I don’t get the criticism of his “shapeless, styleless football”. We have a clear shape. We have a clear style. It might not be good or effective, but we have one.Yeah but genuinely what do you want him to say. I'm fine with having a go at the shapeless, styleless football he's served up so far but seems unfair to have a go at him for saying the obvious to the press.

I said it after the West Ham game where everyone was piling in again, and no one one really came up with an answer. What attacking style would you play with this team? No real pace, no 1v1 ability, no wingers, the big man can’t head, no long shot, our forward players are Hwang and JRB who everyone on here doesn’t want in the championship and and 18 year old who after a burst on the scene has been horrific. This is then backed up by bang average Hugo and Jackson Tchatchoua. What can you do beyond what wera actually doing with this utter dross
I don’t agree with this though. In the first half we were the better side (admittedly lowOn the attacking style, I was disappointed that we didn't use our month off to prepare in any way for the Championship next season. If we had come out playing a back 4, 10 yards higher up the pitch and had been slapped 4-0 you could almost take it and understand it. Like you said, the players are absolutely useless and that style couldn't work in this league with this group but that IS how we're going to have to play next season if we've got any hope of promotion.
Instead we just came out with the same turgid shite and still got a slap anyway.
But what can we learn? Most of them shouldn’t and/or won’t be here. The team (and rob) will be better off scrapping a few results rather than trying to play some totally unsuitable way and getting smashed every week. People would be queuing up to hammer him more than they already are.I'd imagine the last 6 games will be similar, we'll learn absolutely nothing, there will be no preparation for next season but we might grab a few draws or maybe another lucky win on the way. Better for Edwards and a few of the players playing for a move in the summer maybe but undoubtedly worse for the club.
That’s not going to happen though when we’ve got a relealistic chance of passing Burnley and that’s worth £3m. Fans wouldn’t accept that either. As above, nothing to achieve when the players wont be here next year and we don’t have the players to implement any style either. We are in a SHIT situation regarding next season, no matter how bullish the club are with their 'we will be a PL club in August 27' line. There is so much work to do, on the pitch and off. We should've taken the opportunity to implement our style for next season now, communicated to the fans that that was what we were doing and that it might result in a lower points total over the last 7 games but would hopefully stand us in better stead going into next season. Instead we gave the players a 'well deserved break' and served up a steaming pile of shite.
I’m giving him a complete pass on his rematch comments. All managers pretty much deal in banalities, and who can blame them.I don’t agree with this though. In the first half we were the better side (admittedly low
Bar). We pressed high, won the ball high, played in their half, got the ball into the final third, got the “#10s” on the ball, bur sadly with these players it doesn’t lead to anything.

The turnover of players in the middle and attacking third of the pitch is going to be huge. There’s only AA you can be confident will likely be starting next year.

Hard to argue with your points. I didn’t want RE, still don’t think he’s the right man to lead us back to the PL but he’s got results I didn’t expect against Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa. He’s definitely ridden his luck but with the players available trying to play like Lycan suggests would have been suicidal both in terms of results and for his chances of being here in August.I don’t agree with this though. RE has been in a no-win situation. I’ve been as critical as most of performances but the draw with Arsenal and wins against Villa and Liverpool have probably stopped the atmosphere at Molineux becoming toxic and we start next season having avoided becoming a complete laughing stock. Scraping past Derby’s record with a group of players most of whom won’t be here next season wouldn’t be a great foundation for promotion.I’m giving him a complete pass on his rematch comments. You give Edwards a massively easy ride though. I don’t know why, given he gets it everywhere else. It’s not his words, it’s the filth he’s serving up on the pitch, coupled with his (perhaps unfortunate) self satisfied demeanour afterwards. I see no style of play improvement at all TBH, we only have a ‘style’ in as much as any collection of professionals produce some form of style by definition. And it’s a false dichotomy to say he’s playing to get results - he’s simply not going to get the results to go past Burnley because he’s turning out rank displays that see us get thumped at West Ham. Amongst a massive catalogue of other awful displays he is responsible for. He’s literally shown nothing that suggests he’s going to bring the system or players that will bring either joy or results. Why defend him? Is he still doing us a favour? For crying out loud.
He’s in a win win situation. Mates in the media giving him the GON treatment, gets thumped no one cares, money in the bank. It’s an incredibly hard job. That many better qualified coaches would want.
