Keir Starmer at it again..

At a time when people are having to ditch all manner of non-essentials because it costs enormous amounts just to exist relative to a few years ago, then I'd think that political party membership would be right at the top of the queue for those applicable.

So where will they all have gone to ?(genuine question)

Many were just normal people who got excited about being part of a political project that might actually do something for them rather than more managed decline.

Greens mostly would be my guess. A new party called Breakthrough was formed but can't find there membership numbers. There's been no boost in SWP or Communist Party numbers.

I can get what you mean, genuinely, but how can the project actually do anything for them if it’s unelectable?

I joined Labour because of Corbyn, I door knocked for him. 2019 made it clear it was never going to happen, in large parts because of the press, and not helped by the fact he's shit at playing politics, a combination that made him completely unelectable. At that point he becomes damaging to the country because he basically encourages people to vote Tory. Surely at some point people just need to compromise towards the next best/least shit thing
