Keir Starmer at it again..

The planet is fucked, sadly. As a race, we are too selfish and too greedy to do what will be required.

The film Don’t Look Up sums us up perfectly.

On a side note, I hope Pav is ok as it seems Evia is currently on fire.
Thanks for the thought but so far, si good.
The fires are currently in the south of the island, and frankly as far as trees go there aren't many left in the north where i am.
The heat is very dangerous as are the winds.
The forest scrub, i.e. bushes, bracken weeds etc are my main worry, as the ash from the fire in august 2021, acts as a top class fertilizer. I have cleared 20m around my house twice and the undergrowth is back at about 2m high again.
I have had weeks of39c to 44c so being out digging is a no no for me at 70yo.
i walk around the house every two hours dsy and night to spot smoulders so i can get at them quickly and am rigging extra water hoses, although the water was the first thing to go last time (ancient micky mouse setup).
All i can do is watch, and be aware but it is squeaky bum time i will admit.
Sorry to waffle but surely beats more FF fucking P, 😘

People wonder why political discourse has hit rock bottom in the UK when we have adult men and women like Mendoza and Campbell making cringey puns and name-calls like this...

Grow up, man
Was it better 50 years ago - when we had Thatcher the Milk Snatcher? It’s always gone on.

I'm not talking about kids in playgrounds or blokes in the pub, or us on here, I'm talking about actual broadcasters and people with decent social media platforms.

Robin Day wouldn't have introduced Thatcher in those terms

IIRC "Thatcher, Thatcher, Milk Snatcher" was coined by the press. However, as you state, I don't recall any presenters referring to or addressing her in that way.

Milk Snatcher a bit mild imo compared to Kid Starver, and being compared to a racist shitbag like Farage is a bit extreme too.

Also, Thatcher was actually PM and it was a reaction to a policy that had actually been enacted, Starmer is leader of an opposition that hasn't been in power for 13 years and I see him get more shit online than Sunak a lot of the time!

The jokes make serious points though. Starmer supports the limit on child benefit. Campbell probably got confused by the Brexit policy and all the flags.

The answer may be to start your own party if you think they are not representing you.

Instead of moaning like a bunch of bitches about it.
So you can't criticise political parties unless you're willing to start your own? Okaaay

Thatcher was Minister for Education, Edward Heath was Prime Minister.

Apologies, I have a false memory of it happening when I was a kid in the early 80s! Still part of government however

That's not what I've said though. You seem really disgruntled over the Labour Party not representing you and just moaning about it.

Why not find or join a new party instead?

I'm happy just criticising it thanks. Don't really have the time or the money to start an entire political party from scratch.

I'm voting Green.
