Just how good were/was/is/are (Wolves Edition)

I was looking for that shot to put Jordao in my hated opponents selection. On George, he was ace when he could play. We will always have his Weah impression. Stunning goal.

Ndah was basically the first player I ever loved when I first started going.

No luck with injuries, but a cracking striker on his day.

That Ndah goal away at PNE...

Didn't this happen and then Jordao scored the winner to rub salt into the wounds.

Loved big George. The PNE goal was memorable, scored a great goal v (I think) Bradford at home.

I remember that Bradford goal, was in line with it and think I muttered “oh don’t shoot from there George” as he lined it up...

Goal of the day for Wolves too.

Its a great goal but have to ask where the keeper was going. How he is barely in the picture when Ndah shoots is bizarre

Was hoping it was a young Lonners but sadly not. It was Jonathan Gould who was indeed shit.

38. Pedro Neto

Pedro Lomba Neto (born 9 March 2000) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a winger for English club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

On 2 August 2019, Neto signed with Wolverhampton Wanderers. He made his debut twelve days later in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round against FC Pyunik, scoring and providing an assist for Morgan Gibbs-White in a 4–0 home win (8–0 aggregate). His maiden appearance in the Premier League took place a few days later in the same month, when he came on for compatriot Diogo Jota late on in the 1–1 home draw to Manchester United.

Neto's first league start occurred on 28 September 2019, when he assisted Matt Doherty's opening goal in a 2–0 victory over Watford at Molineux. After having what would have been his first goal in the competition ruled out controversially by VAR at Liverpool on 29 December, he scored in the next game in a 2–1 away loss against Watford, becoming the first teenager to achieve the feat for the club in the Premier League in the process.

Very excited by what Pedro can become for us.

He's not only talented but brings something different to the attack. Very enthusiastic direct, strikes the ball well and much quicker than you first realise! He's shown his intelligence and versatility already by playing on the right, left and behind the forwards (he was brilliant at this second half Southampton away).

I have no qualms him coming into the team at any point whether it be for him or Traore. Him and Podence are really excellent squad options for us currently and will hopefully play a big part for the next 9 games.

I think everyone thought, what the fuck is going on with him costing the best part of £25m and his best friend came along to keep him company but he looked promising to start with, had a dip which was part niggling injury part settling into things (even games where he was a bit naff he still managed to do something, such as Villa in the Cup. Didn't do a great deal but just before he was subbed his run should have ended with a penalty to us) but since then has look a proper talent.
He progresses like he should do and he will be a huge star.

From a ringer to a player that will make £25m look a bargain

He can be anything he wants. I like him most coming in off the right for now but as Louie says he is very versatile and still developing. Definitely have no worries about him playing against anyone, at home or in Europe.

Could be a late bolter for the Euros given that there's an extra year to play with now.

Still gutted for him about Anfield, hope he gets a bit of justice there next season.

Did start off being a bit petulant at times but seems to have had that knocked out of him very quickly.

Wasn't the combined fee for both Pedro and Jordao around £18m? (Just under 22m Euros)

Looks a really good player, plenty of pace and skill and Jordao could develop into a good player too so a real bargain buy

Somewhere between £18-25m depending on reports. Jordao was a small amount of that (another who could be a bargain buy)

I like Neto, I was a bit surprised at the transfer, but that comes down to lack of speculation prior to it (I have no knowledge of players outside of England so all targets start as a state of confusion for me!)

As a player I am genuinely excited at what he may become, he's had some tough luck in VAR but he's not cried about it and seemed to just keep going.

I'm no expert on positions or tactics, what I do know is that as a player he excites me (fnaar fnar) in a footballing sense.

Sky's the limit by the look of things. A hugely exciting prospect that I look forward to watching develop over the next few years.

Technically he’s very good. I’d say his crossing/ dead balls is one of the best if not the best at the club. I’d have him on all left foot friendly set pieces if he’s on the pitch.

Like Jota, lacks raw pace like a Rashford but is one of those who “runs quicker with the ball than without it”

Looks solid on either foot, good dribbler, enough pace and only young. Very high ceiling.

Neto lacks pace? He's looked plenty quick to me.

Great potential. Too early to call, though. Could still go the way of Sigurdarson and Graham. Seems like he's got enough competitive spirit to at least stop that from happening.

Graham was done by injury and multiple managerial/formation changes as much as anything tbf.

Those two aren't in the same stratosphere as Neto.

Must admit at being whelmed the first few times I saw him; he's come on leaps and bounds since.

Still not quite sure how he will fit into the team in the future and if he will be happy on the bench for the next few years

He’s not slow but he’s not rapid. More Jota/Rooney than Owen/Rashford.

As they say, enough pace but not enough to run away from you.

He’s got a decent burst which he uses well which often opens up on opportunity to cross or chop it back.
