Jeremy Corbyn

I don't think they are right of Thatcher and Tebbitt, revolting though I believe IDS to be, he isn't the entire government. It is close, but I think they are JUST centre of Thatcherism.

Like I said, to me facsicm is the exteme right wing. Because their econmics beliefs are opposite to the Tory neoliberalism, they can't both have extreme right wing economic ideals.

Fascism believes in a mainly nationalised state system, which is meant to be good for the state. It gives work to it's citizens. The national health service and social security, in Spain started under Franco's Facsist government. Of course on the downside, Fascist goverments are dictators and totalitarian, which means as you know, a lack of liberty. Under an extreme right wing facist goverment every detail is state controlled.

A Tory neoliberal goverment, does the exact opposite. They want to shrink the state. The nation doesn't matter, or it's people. What matters is money, They sell off national assets, for the benefit of the few and the suffering of it's citizens. Neoliberals support extensive economic liberalization policies such as privatization, fiscal austerity, deregulation, free trade, and reductions in government spending in order to enhance the role of the private sector in the economy, at the expence of it's citizens.

The two ideas are directy opposed.

I think they are nastier than Thatcher, if that is possible. I wouldn't call them extreme right wing. I could call them many other things, but I won't.

Hang on though - the most infamous fascist party was the NSDAP. National Socialist German Workers Party. Hardly a right wing title.

I've been following this thread with interest, I shall get a vote in the upcoming leadership election and I think I might just vote for him.
The thing is where I used to long to see a Labour Government I couldn't give a fuck anymore, from a purely personal point of view Tory/labour it doesn't make that much difference to my life.

I was saying what's being said on here by the young and angry in the early eighties about Micheal Foot and the Labour Party manifesto went down as 'the biggest suicide note in political history', ironically before Thatch shot the Belgrano in the back his popularity was far higher than hers but as Farage has found out, there's nothing the English love more than giving 'Johnny Foreigner' a good kicking.

Which brings me back to Corbyn, he'll get the rank and file back on board as has been shown on here, he'll shake the SNP up a bit providing they're still part of the UK in 2020, as for all those northern Labour supporters who fled to UKIP in their thousands they did that on one issue and one issue only and I'll be interested to see what they think of Jeremy's immigration policy
So yeah, let's have him as Leader of the Labour Party but he will never ever be the Prime Minister of this Country.

Of course, but that is the ticket that they were brought in with. It doesn't change what happened afterwards which was of course significantly right of genghis khan.

Everyone knows I am a Conservative voter. I make no excuses or indeed hide the point. However, I WANT Corbyn to win not because I think it will necessarily keep my lot in power (although with the printed media it probably will in terms of the next election), but because politics needs different agendas and a real choice. Since the Blairite revolution Labour has become very centrist, and now Cameron has tried to claim centre ground to get over the line in the last election, and then acted a LONG way away from that agenda since getting power. Having a geniunely left of centre (NOT loony left) opposition led by a principled and I believe quality politician in Corbyn would be a great thing for British politics.

And I said the Tories weren't fascist. I don't think you've answered my question at all but I'm not that interested now.

Hear hear.

Disappointing. I think whoever wins there will be a fracture within the Labour party. It seems inevitable.

Yep, as a party that could form a Government it's looking like the Labour Party are fucked for the next ten years at least unless someone finds some piccies of Boris giving Dave a blow job.

As I said the other week, if Labour MPs/members really want to push a centre right agenda, then they can pop off and form a new party. I'm sure they'll get votes somewhere but mine won't be one of them.

Nothing wrong with that Deutsch, I'm inclined to agree, last Labour Govenment, Coaliton, Tories, it ain't made a great deal of difference to me, there's definitely something to be said for being a supporter of a protest group.

Why not just vote for the socialist workers party if you just want a protest socialist vote?

Who said it was a protest vote?
