Jeremy Corbyn

Dacre doesn't run the country. As much as he believes he does, the fucking cunt.

There is hope, but Jezza isn't it sadly. I was not a fan (to say the least) but Blair would have absolutely destroyed either of these two chancers.

Dacre doesn't edit The Mail any more and their rhetoric has become a little more enlightened* under Geordie Greig.

*It would be hard not to.

Pathetic from Jezferatu today. Absolutely pathetic. Prime Minister on the rack. Government defeated 3 times in 63 minutes yesterday. A boat load of ammunition available.

AND HE DOESN'T EVEN ASK A QUESTION ABOUT THE MATTER IN HAND.

Woeful.

He asked all the right questions, just on the wrong day...

Oh don't get me wrong - austerity and universal credit can be attacked and should be. Today he had a fantastic opportunity to go in for the kill on this Brexit shambles and it was like he was pretending it didn't exist. So May got off far too lightly.

Doesn’t want to rally her MPs behind her and Chequers to be approved. Sitting on the fence watching the Tories burn has been incredibly successful so no point at this moment giving them the catalyst to pull together against him. First he needs Chequers to be rejected.

That's massively defensive and weak. Chequers isn't going to pass. Everyone knows that. He is missing his one good opportunity to actually look like a PM in waiting rather than dithering opposition leader. I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed.

Corbyns pretty lucky that 'doing fuck all' involves the same effort as 'letting the Tories implode', so his supporters can claim he's doing the latter.

Corbyn's Labour are statistically the best opposition in history given that the government have lost 16 HoC votes.

Well the Conservatives haven't even got a majority so they're a comparatively easy government to defeat in parliament compared to most aren't they?

It's not like Labour are convincing tens of Conservative MPs to vote against their own party and destroy the advantage of a big majority is it.

I just think the idea that Labour are a poor opposition is bollocks, they have repeatedly forced the Tories to U turn on policies and then there are the 16 losses in the HoC.

A weak opposition would still be beaten repeatedly.

So after a day debating Brexit before a week debating Brexit and a possible televised debate on Brexit, Corbyn chooses PMQs to talk about the immense suffering already caused by Tory policy. Instead of debating Brexit!

Poverty is the matter in hand for millions of people across the country the HoC is saturated with Brexit talk, it was 100% the right call.

They're a very weak government though, they can't just steam roll through regardless, if Labour are doing their bit and voting against things then you only need a couple of people to protest against their party or even just abstain before the government haven't got enough of their own MPs to wave it through.

Sure Labour are playing a part but they're not difficult battles.

It absolutely wasn't.

He had May on toast if he went on the attack about Brexit because he had soooooo much ammunition. She was a poor PMQs away from being in unsalvageable trouble. The austerity questions are great and relevant and also matter, but that was the worst missed opportunity.

That's fair, it's the narrative that Labour are a weak opposition that is wrong though, they keep defeating the government, or forcing U turns, the very opposite of weak.

They do, because they are all (apart from the odd weirdo like Hooey) singing from the same hymn sheet. There are very few labour rebels from party policy in any vote at the moment. Corbyn does deserve credit for that, as I expected a lot more resistance from the Blairite wing of the party, but he seems to have it under control.

You honestly think that her bumbling her way through questions about Brexit would have made sod all difference? She's been doing that for 2 years!

A far more pressing issue to people is poverty and inequality!

The fact that the Tories literally laughed at Corbyn when he is explaining that there are 4.1 million children living in poverty does far more damage to the perception of them than arguing about Brexit.

There are dozens of things to attack the Tories on, why just focus on one?!

Should Corbyn just let the UN report slide because of Brexit?

Indeed, it's taken a while, but at least for now they are pulling together. Which is better for the country ultimately.

Not sure how long it'll last though!
