If an animal is stunned surely whether the final act is a bolt to the head or a slit to the throat is irrelevant? I'm against Halal without the stunning, but not the practice in its totality

They are similar but I imagine that more people in this country are anti Halal meat than Kosher meat due to the fact that the people doing the slaughtering have brown faces (I'm not implying that anyone on here thinks this btw).

The frequency with which it's encountered might play a part too, see plenty of butchers and restaurants advertising as halal but don't think I've ever seen a single place do the same for kosher.
