Jeremy Corbyn

Yep, lets hope this leads to a big clear out. It should be standard practice for anyone accused to be suspended from Parliament completely pending independent investigations, resignations are not enough.

I think it's time to set aside any political differences and all agree that there's a fair few abhorrent creatures in politics.

But the majority aren't. I think it is absolutely necessary to have a zero tolerance policy on bad behaviour and politicians hold a privileged position and should be held to strict standards but what really saddens me is that really good politicians who are in it for the right reason (regardless of their political persuasion) are tarred with the same brush as their miscreant colleagues.

I know a few of our local MPs and councillors, I don't agree politically with all of them, but I know how hard they work, I know how many hours they put in and I know they are committed to what they do...and that they are good people. There are a fair few abhorrent creatures in the electorate who give them dogs abuse just because they are politicians, as if that is a free pass.

As well as holding up the wrong doers to justifiable criticism, we should also stand up for those that keep themselves on the right side of the line.

Ok, although I totally agree with what you are saying, I didn't, at any point, say or insinuate all MP's ??

I for one look forward to hearing from the right honourable Scooby Doo, Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Piss poor behaviour from Kerry McCarthy. Sending letters to the press rather than reporting them to the party first and damages a man's reputation publicly before he's even had a chance to defend himself.

The headline :icon_lol::icon_lol:

"Labour to double your Council Tax...Some by 100%"

They couldn't double it by 50% :icon_lol:

:icon_lol:

I don't tend to read headlines, the E&S have taught me that.

Council Tax is determined by local government, under current rules central government set the limit beyond which a rise is subject to a local referendum. In order for a Labour government to double council tax there would need to be a change in the law to move council tax powers from local government to Westminster. Not going to happen.

It’s a dead cat.

Marsha Jane Thompson, convicted election fraudster and Momentum activist appointed Labour Party campaign chief.

At a time when Labour should be capitalising on the Tory party mess they are consistently scoring own goals. Our democracy is the biggest mess I can remember.

“I have written to every paper that has inaccurately reported this but they have so far refused to withdraw the false claims and in fact keep repeating them.
“Their headlines of ‘election fraud’ and ‘100 fake voters’ are inaccurate and misleading, and bear no relation to the offence I admitted to.”
So what’s the real story? “I returned to work in the winter of 2004 after maternity leave, financially in a very precarious place as a period of it had been unpaid,” she answers.
“I foolishly signed council papers to say that I had completed work that I hadn’t, which involved signing the details of whoever occupied the address to be an accurate record — details that were already on the electoral roll.
“I admitted to doing this on 20 forms — which amounted to fraudulently claiming £21.15 — and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
“The conviction I have is for fraud — not electoral fraud — and false accounting."

Have you just copied and pasted the Morning Star comrade :)
