Jeremy Corbyn

Neil Kinnock in 92 is up there with Milliband in 2015 for me. Both somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Both shouj
Kd have been a shoe in. Kinnocks got 4 pensions totalling 80k a year plus so he doesn't care.

Some people don't value money above all else.

I would like to think that it was the minority that were hell bent on greed.

Bollocks excuse my French! The society I have grown up with since the 70s has been capitalist and relies on the income and expenditure to thrive. Whilst I am not in the loads a money school I do know and realise that today's world nothing is free and making more Money helps your living standards

The amount people borrow to have the finer things in life is a testament to that.

'Above all else' was the key phrase...

Not to mention his wife. But as good socialists they would never try to make financial gain out of Mr. Kinnocks former position, would they?

Not sure Kinnock is a socialist is he? And is having a good pension a bad thing?
Apart from Neil Kinnock?

I would be interested in your thoughts on the contents of his quote if you have time.
Still genuinely interested to hear you views on the quote, rather than on his and his wife's pension.

Fishing...

I reckon you will get a mighty TSBFish on that hook...

You are also being unfair and making some pretty dodgy insinuations there. I never knew claiming a pension was a cause for opprobrium.

But the left always complain about Conservative leaders and cabinet members only looking after their own interests. But when the Kinnocks do it then it is fine. It is just a shame that this forum is so out of touch with the real world.

Where and when? I think quite a few people have said MPs should get paid more, I definitely think they should.

Hang on - there are two of them. They both claim two pensions. Neil from his time as an MP and his time at the European parliament, Glenys from her time outside politics and then from her time involved in the political spectrum. And the four pensions in total are £80k a year. Now, I would love that amount for sure, but we are hardly talking Bill Gates levels there. Especially when you remember that as leader of the opposition on a final salary pension that probably covers nearly three-quarters of that in one of the pensions.

That isn't out of touch at all. Come on, bloody behave.

I remember when I used to think politics was a very grown up subject, turns out it creates childishness like no other topic.

I'm still waiting for a response to my post on Monday asking Conservative voters to tell me what the Cameron/May governments have done that they are proud of and how things have improved since the previous Labour government. I guess I'll be waiting a while.

The Kinnocks pensions are closer to £200,000 a year, which I do not object to. What is sad is that this left wing forum constantly criticises every financial dealings of Conservatives.

And don't tell me to behave.

I'm more interested in the appalling policies that Tories subject us to. I don't care what David Cameron or John Major earn now.

Austerity?

There has been plenty of criticism of Blair on here, particularly his income for speeches and comical middle east peace envoy role
