January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

We don't particularly care about Stoke.

But in those 15 years I don't think we've played them in the league?

I went to Stoke away in the 90s and it was vile, similar to Leeds.

Then once in the 00s and it was similarly hairy.

Anyway that wasn't my point, I just think the games I mentioned will get in crowds of over 25k, assuming we are at least in the top 6.
Apologies, didn't mean it as a refutation. Thinking aloud, as it were.

Fwiw I've been following us seriously for 15 years now; I've never once heard of us particularly caring about Stoke, nor the other way around. But then, I don't think I've ever met a Stoke supporter.
Staffordshire Derby between the two biggest cities in the county, so yes, for people north of Wolverhampton it's a bit of a deal.

The two cities might be in the same county, but they're a relatively long way apart. It's pretty much the same distance away as Coventry or Burton Albion which literally no-one cares about; and Shrewsbury which only people from the far side of Telford care a little about.

The Clayheads are a bunch of shits. Their fans are vile. Their only saving grace is that the Port Vale animals are even worse.

Port Vale away in '89 is the most I've ever been worried about my safety. Not because of the other fans, although it did go off afterwards. I didn’t put my feet on the ground all game and in hindsight it was a couple of months before Hillsborough
