January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Jorge still earning his dollar from us.
Should we just make him our Exec Chairman now?

Jorge earning his dollar for us…….and getting us a ridiculous, over-inflated, fee at the same time.

Sone of the finest players I will ever see at Wolves are, largely, because of Jorge Mendes involvement.

Maybe the club weren’t always careful enough what they wished for.

Using Mendes was never the problem. Essentially having a bonfire of the scouting and recruitment departments in the false assumption that he would always give us the good stuff, and better stuff each season, was the problem. And the good stuff well dried up the moment football pygmy Jeff decided the city wasn't big enough for the both of him and Nuno.

Our current use of Jorge is not great.

Not going to complain about early Jorge and the players we got at all. We all knew it was a tad dodgy but we benefited from it so it got a pass.

Right now though, we appear to be easy money for him. Representing us, a lot of the time the player and also the buying club. Currently we are holding the shitty end of the stick. We dont even get the shit players on his books, we could do with an Ola John about now...

How we use Jorge just amplifies how off track we have gone with our supposed strategy

Good deal, though in part the nonsense fee is a stroke of luck from the nonsense people we’ve had running the show. Now plying their fortuitous trade elsewhere. Only under Nuno has anyone exercised any form of discretion and control over incomings, and our owners have decided that was complete luck, in fact an annoyance. As the current manager and head of recruitment were appointed by the same man who thought that to be the case, I have 0.0% confidence we’ll make any decent acquisitions. We won’t be able to do that in this window anyway, and shouldn’t make a rash mistake. Let’s make a considered bunch of mistakes in the summer instead, until somehow we luck out with a strong and astute management team again.

Meaningless fee if we spend it on the type of shit we did in August

Yeah, I can't get excited about this from a financial POV, just glad he's going.

With the likes of Jackson and Shi II steering the ship, I imagine we'll be lumbered with a load of unsuitable and overpriced Mendes dross this summer

This is the thing, he's not his agent. He'll have done nothing in this deal that a decent DoF couldn't have and earned millions for it. No red tape, no language barriers, christ the bloke on the other side of the table worked for us 6 months ago. Years after him being useful from a recruitment in perspective we still refuse to structure ourselves in a semi competent fashion and in doing so flush millions away in fees and favours like Lopez

Palace also signing Guessand on loan from Villa.

Even the players we wanted in the summer are being moved on.

My mates who support Villa think he's terrible.

Would've fit right in.

Thing is we did set up ourselves to do our own recruitment and signing etc, it was shit so we binned it all off (around this time last year IIRC?).

Any strategy is only as good as the implementation..

Mad to think the new set up came from us being so impressed with Vitor's decision to sign Agba and Munetsi, so we gave him the keys to the transfer car.
Bastard wrote it off in the summer

This is how far we have fallen that Forest are pinching our number one to sit on there bench as a number two. Mind you says a lot about Sa that he's moving to become number two. Jeff Shi will have his name written into the 'anals' of time.

I will bet your EMF ticket fund he is back in Greece or in Portugal by the start of next season on a loan deal from Forest.

Does it? I mean we’re clearly a shadow of a few years ago but I’m hard pressed to be annoyed at any club more recently promoted than us buying a player we don’t think is worth keeping regardless.

And even if we were still consistently top half, that wouldn’t stop our best players getting poached. There are no more Tottis in the world.

Edwards considers Sa number one and I think he's the best out of the three we have, it certainly is a bad indictment to how far we have fallen. Christ we will be back to fucking Johnstone on Saturday, however Ric Flair wooooooo for Bentley who see's the bench again as number two. How bastardly fucking brilliant.
