January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Well the only positive is that if he goes to United we should get a decent fee, assuming of course we don’t renegotiate his contract with an unnecessarily low release clause between now and January.

Not particularly fussed tbh. He's not been anywhere near as good as he should've been given his ability. Periods of good form but way too many spells like the first XI this season and for all the arm waving at Vítor's team selections before he got sacked he was deservedly dropped (or would've been if the back up options were anywhere near acceptable).

The same can apply to JSL and to a lesser extent André as well.

The vultures will well and truly be circling our squad in January. Fully expecting a couple of remaining big names to go and distinctly average, British players to be brought in as replacements who can hit the ground running in the championship next season.

I don't think so, not a lot of business happens in January anyway, we don't even own one of our few good players in Krejci to sell, no-one will give us our money back on Tolu as we've managed to waste months not picking him, they won't lose face on JSL so soon and no-one would particularly want him on this season's form anyway, that only leaves the two Brazilians who are quality but also aren't the kind of players that get spirited away because you simply must have them now.

The rest of them can go for any fee, I do not give a shit, they are rubbish.

Dont agree, I think Joao has been our best player overall. Maybe not at his best but no-one has been. I think part of the reason he hasn't shown his absolute best is the rest of the team, playing with the current squad has meant he's been trying to do the work of 2 or 3, constantly 'field fighting' to try and keep us in games.
I think it's gunna be a long time before we can again attract players of his and Andre quality.

They've all been crap though, João has just been, at times, the best of a very bad bunch. I'd argue that Tolu has probably been the best actually, it's just that he's hardly been on the pitch.

I am fussed, it's just another player of quality leaving the club, like so many before him, a further signal of our decline.
We’ve declined so fast that sadly the departure of someone like João isn’t a sign of our decline but an inevitability because of it.

Yeah, but I'm certainly "fussed" about it.
I just can’t get fussed about it when it’s the inevitable outcome of four years of incredibly bad management. He’ll be gone by August when we kick off in the Championship, more important is who we’ll end bring in to replace both him and anyone else the club can flog.

"Josh is a player that knows the Championship and who had been on our radar a number of years, so we are pleased to be able to add his experience to the midfield of Chirewa, meaning with those two as our CMs we can now conclude our transfer business."

Feels like a no brainer. Full wages, guaranteed transfer if Wolves stay up, triggers a penalty if we don't that is still about 3m-5m in fees etc and could see this.

Can't say I am familiar with him but I would be willing to give virtually any new keeper the no1 spot currently.

If he’s got two hands, two feet and can dive he’ll be an upgrade on all three of the ones currently here!
