January 2022 Transfer Thread

Woosh

please excuse my sarcasm. It’s easier than complaining about another shit window that may get worse tomorrow. I will try harder to smile .

We aren't selling anyone worthwhile tomorrow. Not sure why you are on one? There is plenty of merit in criticising the transfer policy over the last 18 months without building straw men

The small squad of Wolves can be frustrating as a fan, but it also ties into why I'd be surprised with any departures tomorrow other than development loans. If you are Utd/Arsenal and you are stalling till tomorrow to try and sign Neves away from Wolves then you've made your own attempt much harder by leaving it so late for the selling club, to sell and replace such a pivotal starter, you'd need a massive fee above valuation plus maybe an agreement to loan a player in addition due to the deadline likely preventing getting a replacement in.

Only replying to the rumours . Let’s just get through tomorrow.
Mason Greenwood has just been arrested too!

If anyone else from the first 11 leaves at this late stage carnage is an understatement
As much as I agree, I’m sure every single player will still have a price. My point is if we are considering 40m to be Neves’ price, then the board really need to give their heads an almighty wobble

I wonder what Neves and Neto think about our transfer activity over the last couple of windows.

That's the big problem with the board being happy with 8th. The big players won't be, they'll go, and then we won't even be 8th anymore.

They're not stupid, they'll know that we haven't spent money for two and half years. They'll know that the squad is probably weaker than it was after the first PL window.

They were sold a project, with a worst case being it turns into a stepping stone - and we've definitely morphed from the former to the latter. We seem to think we're going to be basically the only club in the world that is going to achieve sustained footballing success whilst also not having any investment.

All depends on what the board see ‘sustained success’ as. But yeah, your Neto’s, Neves’ etc won’t be willing to tread water here, that’s for sure’

Before Jeff told him to keep his trap shut that's what Bruno said about Neves. Something along the lines of he's happy here but we have to match his ambitions. Irrespective of what we may think of him, losing Adama and bringing a kid in for £3m weakens the side. Players will see that and make their actions accordingly when appropriate

Can't keep an unhappy player. Its like when A Mr Whoopee chimes that mutha fucking bell. I have to get up and get a 99 with a flake and hundreds and thousands on it.

Right then, who should we look to buy in the Summer Transfer Window?

I used to quite enjoy deadline day (not on sky sports news, that’s just weird), but it’s been really dull past few years - especially from a wolves PoV

Tbf Jeff was busy dodging deals at the end of the Summer window. Had to work hard creating the spin on avoiding both Sanches and Botman
