January 2021 Transfer Window

And was so good I don't even remember that, despite watching the game.

What has he ever done to make you think it would be worthwhile, even short term? Sign a striker by all means if we have to, but not crap like that.
At the moment I'd take anyone, so not being picky.

Pick someone who wouldn't cost stupid money for tiny reward then :D

Emotional return for Jay Bothroyd.

Torres, we would get 2 of him for the price of 1 now

Presuming that Cutrone doesn't develop into some kind of solution over the rest of the season I still feel some kind of forward is as much of a priority as a CM and CB. If we don't do it now I think we'd be daft not to do it in the summer.

Doesn't have to be a Raul clone either, I like YW's suggestion of someone who can play wider too
Every good team starts from a solid and dependable spine. Rui/Coady/ Boly/ Moutinho/ Raul was ours last season in all competitions and it worked well. There are question marks this season against all those names through injury or a drop in form. I am not a fan of cross your fingers and hope for the best strategies which appears to be the case at the moment. We are 25-1 to be relegated and the bookmakers are rarely wrong. I do think a new signing will give the place a well needed lift.

£100 on us to be relegated would certainly be a silver lining should it actually happen...

FWIW we are currently 9th favourite to be relegated so given the bookmakers are rarely wrong I don't think I'll be chucking any money away.

That was partly my point, bloody awful beats having nothing other than a youngster who cannot (or really should not) play every game and Cutrone who it sounds like will have even more trouble to settle than last time.
Less than a week ago I was confused by the clamour for cutrone to replace silva, and there were those, yourself included who wanted cutrone in for silva purely because he's not 18.
Now you want cutrone replaced based on 25 nins of sub appearances in 2 games?

No, I would just like us to have a striker we are able to play now. If Nuno thinks Pat is not that guy then lets sign someone. It is a radical concept, having a fit available senior striker, but I am willing to nail my colours to that mast.

Given he’s recalled him and talked about what he can offer, and brought him on as sub both games since he got back - what makes you think Nuno doesn’t think he’s the right guy?

What's the source like ? Wouldn't say no on the face of it. Decent goal record, looks like he could play the lone striker role.

Confirmed by Jonny Phillips now too. Says the club have been working on it for a while and fought off stiff competition around Europe.
