January 2021 Transfer Window

A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic, don't you think?
A little too ironic
And, yeah, I really do think
Hang on.. So I'm Jinky... And you're Alanis Morissette? 2021 has been very confusing so far

Timmy's View

"The pasta merchant is back." No surprise that Cutrone brought back from Fiorentina (0 goals from 12 sub apps) but I gather he'll now have a couple of weeks to impress before Wolves decide whether to make an addition late in the window

I disagree - all communication from the club and Cutrone suggest he is back for good...

I think this notion that "he is better than Silva" is an interesting one, is he?

Cutrone has 9 goals in his last 76 games.

He hasn't scored in his last 18 appearances either.

(He scored 3 in 3 prior to that)

When he was previously here he couldn't settle, i'd imagine that will be even more difficult during a lockdown?

i prefer to look at his minutes played rather than number of games.
he's a young guy, hopefully another year on he will have learnt a bit of humility. Not saying he will be the new Steve Bull but nothing to lose giving him a second chance imo

That parts depends on how much he learnt from his first spell here. If he moves into the hotel/rented home on his own again then he will fail. If family or friends move with him this time then he has a chance. From all accounts, it was that time on his own that did him.
I like that he binned his agent last month and is now using his family to represent him, so at least he is getting some help that will ensure what he does is generally for his benefit.

Presume Cutrone is back in time to be registered for the Palace game?

I agree, we have nothing to lose. I'm just trying to understand why people think he is better than Silva, on what basis?

No idea, him and MGW might need to be tested first? And depends when Patrick has come back too I guess, won't have trained with the squad I imagine?

MGW is definitely in the squad, the statement said so. Cutrone statement was more vague, so assume might be unavailable then.

MGW can play.

I think you have to register a player 24 hours before a game to be eligable to play. I know in the league if we egister someone by 12pm on a Friday, they can play on the Saturday.
The only exception is Cup replays, not registered for the first game, can't play in the replay. Not an issue this year due to no replays though

Have a feeling Cutrone has been here a few days and the announcement was just delayed due to testing/clearance. Easy to hide things with no press or fans allowed at the training ground.

Oh, is that how it works?
As simplistic as it I pretty much agree.

Silva physically isn't developed enough yet to impact matches in a way that we want. Cutrone is at least going to be able to do that (whether his ability is enough from that point on - we shall see).

Cutrone could actually help us in signing a new striker.

Everybody knows we've got a gaping hole in our forward line with an 18 year old boy valiantly failing at filling it for the foreseeable.

Wolves come knocking and clubs will be adding millions onto already January inflated valuations.

Recalling Cutrone removes the desperation tax to a degree.

I was particularly hostile towards him after his interviews about Nuno etc but if that was bad advice and hes since binned his agent off and I think in general he's more suited to our new formation I'm happy to give him a go and see what happens.

If we could then add a second central/wide forward with a greater eye for goal than say Traore I'd be quite satisfied under the usual and covis circumstances.

Well the bars pretty low isn’t it.

Look through my posting history, I’ve not exactly spoke highly of Patrick. But he is currently a better option than Fabio yes.

I just want someone to back up as to why that is the case? I can't see the evidence that suggests he is definitely is?
