My mistake, he was just far away...

oh and Wolves...PUT THE STATIONERY AWAY FFS!

Podence has ability from the little bits I've seen but he is very small.

Oliveira might have been ok competition for Leo in the Champ. Nothing like up to where we are now.

5’5” according to Wiki. #bigmanuptop

I think it’s going to be a busy week.

Its going to be an annoying week. Now we seemingly have 1 confirmed geniune player we want to sign we will now see Social media lose its shit when it isn't completed by 12pm tomorrow and people convinced we have blown the deal.

Raul
Jota
Adama
Neto
Podence
Campana

Enough depth there for our standard three up top? Given Jota can play centrally and Neto can play either side.

He's shorter than me, FFS! :icon_lol:

Absolutely agree that Oliveira is miles off where we need to be. But I suppose you can't wait around for transfers to happen and if he's happy to come here to literally sit on the bench and be a back up to Raul, fair enough.

I think we will try and sign a short term cover/back up for the central role.

Campana will be buggering back to Ecuador once he has signed and I think when he does come back, he will get a few games in the U23's before being considered

Get the feeling that we're paying over the odds for Podence, but that's the market, and it's nice to have another option across the front.

Whisper it, but I can actually see the value in Oliveira, provided he's not a bad influence in the dressing room. He'd be second-or-third fiddle at best, but he wouldn't be too expensive as an insurance policy at the moment.

Is Podence an upgrade on what we have? I haven't seen much of him at all, from the clips i've seen he looks very tricky but the Premier League is a very different ask than the Greek league. Also noticed he's not made any appearances for Portugal at senior level, but not sure if that's as a victim of the league he's playing in?

I want him here purely for the dream scenario of him out jumping Tyrone Mings to score a 94th minute winner at Villa Park.

Hard to make sense of what Fernando Santos does sometimes. Brought back Quaresma when he was ancient and had been dicking around crap leagues for ages. Plays William Carvalslow ahead of Neves. Got rid of Moutinho for no reason for a while before he had to concede defeat and admit he was too good to ignore. Kept with ancient centre halves like Pepe, Bruno Alves and Fonte rather than trying defenders who can actually run.

Hard to quantify- I see him as providing a different option rather than being a straightforward upgrade for Jota.

Good player, though- he was genuinely excellent against Spurs a few months back.

Eh not sure a tiny player with average stats from the greek league is the best way to spend 30m euros.
