In other news, Simeone has said Lemar’s representatives are working on helping him get a potential move. I could see us offering a loan with option (rather than obligation) to buy. Sticking point would potentially be wages and if he sees it as a step down. If this is in anyway realistic at all!

I hate this "depth" talk btw. We don't want tons of players sitting around at Compton doing nothing in case the sky falls in. We've made this abundantly clear.

Pretty sure we could recall Connor Ronan now to cover at least three positions and I like the boy, but the manager doesn't fancy him so there we are.

We have a minimum of 20 games left this season hopefully 27. That means that most of the first choice 11 will have 55 games plus internationals. Unsustainable. It could have been over 30 with the fa cup. That's why we talk about depth. The same depth that allows man city shadow 11 to win the carabao or fa cup.

I don't want 10 millionaires clogging up golf courses on match days but nor do I want a bench full of under 23s to cover the key positions. Somewhere in between is the right answer .

I think what Cyber is wanting from the 1st team squad is pretty much what Nuno actually wants but if it comes down to trusting an U23 player over a player he doesn't want then he will go with the U23. It wasn't that long ago KJ was being given players he didn't want.
