It's Official!!: Europa League Thread

Ah Ok, got it (kind of). Draws are on June 19 right? Do we think these will be televised on the UEFA site or just have to see the outcome afterwards?

Yes they are shown live on the UEFA site 100% and YouTube I believe.

Thanks. We’re seeing a specialist on the Friday, so only really going to be about Thursday night and Friday afternoon and night, so a bar or two and somewhere decent to eat is about all we are after.

Oh, you'll have no problem with that. I would never go there for a city break or whatever though.

Aye - but the interest for me in working through the games and seeing it develop was worth it for me. Brought out my inner nerd.

We will hopefully sneak in. Legia/Malmo/Steau/Partizan could all easily lose, and we only need it to be one of them.

As Lycan says, we will take on anyone. But you’d rather Sturm Graz than Roma

Thanks for all the info Paddy, but it's doing my head in.

Think that I will just wait for the draw - we are only going to be playing one team anyway.

It is now really simple.

Seeded second quali
Seeded third quali
As it stands unseeded playoff unless someone with a higher coefficient fucks up early.

Even if we were unseeded in that playoff draw we would be the one team every seed (and I include Roma in that) would be desperate to avoid.

That simplifies things!

Don't think we should go into this with anything less than confidence - we are a decent team (without any transfer window adjustments).

If we got to the Play Off and drew Roma and lost I would still be fucking delighted. Wolves taking on the likes of Roma is serious shit. Would certainly beat watching us nob around in the League Cup 2nd Round v Accrington

And losing on penalties

Highest average wage in Europe I believe at 54k! Guess its expensive?

It's an amazing place. I worked out there for about three months which coincided with Euro 2004. It's almost like enclaves of all the different nationalities who are out there for EU bizz. One super "English" bar where I used to play darts every night against some fellow British types and a load of Dutch lunatics. Massive Portuguese population and loads of their cuisine bombing around. Best bit was being dragged into Swedish bar for their game against the Danes. They insisted I bought their bar shirt as I was the only one not in yellow, and then got me smashed all night.

A memorable summer. I don't remember it being BRUTALLY expensive. About the same as here really.
