Saw the video of her kidnapping. It wasn't an arrest. She was there legally and the extent of her "dissent" was co-writing an article last year in the university newspaper asking the Tufts admininstration to recognise and condemn the situation in Gaza.

It's not like they revoked her visa and said she has x time to leave the country, they took her and shipped her 2 thousand miles to a prison in Louisiana and it wasn't until much later that Tufts lawyers were even informed she was taken and where to.

It's official that the US is now imprisoning people for excersising their right to free speech. For the moment it is non-citizens, but there is already talk of expanding denaturalization, so give it a little while longer they'll be doing this to US citizens.
 
I was wondering if she or Mahmoud Khalil had been covered over there.

It honestly makes me scared about some of the things I’ve posted in the Trump thread. Not like I’ve been spoofing my IP.

I travel to the US regularly on business and we've been told to remove all social media apps from our devices before we travel. Immigration officers are now exercising their right to demand you unlock your phone/laptop etc for inspection....

I've seen advice saying to get a cheap phone with pay as you go SIM with no social media apps or anything associated to it at all and leave your regular phone at home. It's mind boggling that people are getting advice on how to avoid Fascism.

Been on the ESTA application for a few years to show your social media accounts. Guess now they actually might check them.

Love visiting the US and have a NY trip in July for the wife's 50th and was looking at another road trip there for my 50th next year. Might just leave the place after July visit and hope things stop being so mental once he has gone

Gill's got a place in the Chicago marathon in October. I'm thinking of not going with her.
 
I’m not sure I’d recommend that any plans y’all have to come here should stand. The way ICE is operating right now, they don’t need a good reason to detain you. Shit, one of the guys deported to El Salvador got picked up for having a tattoo of a soccer ball with a crown on it.

I’d strongly advise changing those plans, if at all possible. It’s just too risky, and there’s nothing over here worth taking that sort of risk for.

Yeah as I've mentioned I am seriously considering not going too. Just don't think it'll be as enjoyable now.

Plus the accommodation is incredibly expensive.

Fingers crossed they think my MiL is a bit dodgy then as she is tagging along for the NY trip...
