Disgusting article. You can rightly condemn Israel for their over reaction, but at the same time Hamas are murdering terrorists who kill innocent civilians in cold blood. That article appeases Hamas terrorism.

Is that justification for terrorism? Both sides can be wrong, it’s a not a football match.

I believe the point is (or should be) that Israel has created an environment in which terrorism can thrive. Extremism doesn’t foment in a vacuum. Violent occupation can and will create and sustain violent responses.

I'm way more cynical than most and my bar for politicians is almost on the floor. Rich calling the shots, complicit media, undemocratic system, Overton window, Iraq lies blah blah blah have battered me over the years. However, I always thought that there was a limit - a basic level of decency - a line that would not be crossed. I thought children being blown up would be that line. Even then, I never expected my govt to condemn it - heaven forbid - but I thought they may at least stop supporting it. Turns out there is no line. No basic level of decency. This conflict has shown us who we really are.
