Israel-Palestine

I've repeatedly said that Israel has an obligation to demonstrate that civilian casualties are minimised and proportional.

Those are their obligations under international law.
 
If the tables were turned and Hamas had more weapons and power than Israel, there wouldn't be a Jew left in Israel today.
If Israel were weaker, many of their neighbours would kill all the Jews left in Israel.
Trump can build all the skyscrapers and pave Gaza with gold , but it would be wasted money. The objective is the destruction of Jews in Israel. I could never support people who want to achieve that.

It would be a massive step forwards though.
Similarly, the British, Australians, Chinese, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Turkish, French, German, American, Portuguese, Belgian, Viking, Roman, Greek, Arab invasions all paused. Of course, there were many others.
There is always ebb and flow and in none of the places invaded by the above did the local indigenous population accept the invasion.
Is it inevitable in human nature then that we just accept barbaric invasions by our kin and their friends and patronise the oppressed for fighting back?
It's going to be a long road towards sanity on this planet if we don't even start looking at both sides of the argument.

In more peaceful times there's a clear majority of support to a two state solution, on both sides. That can be harnessed

So why do you believe their death count, on how many Palestinians have been killed, which comes directly from Hamas?
