Is Bruno Lage A Good Manager Or Should He Go?

Back him or sack him?

The odds of Bruno being the next manager to go just plummeted from 7/1 to shorter than evens on the exchanges. This has happened in the last 90 minutes - somebody knows something.
Happened with Rodgers a couple of weeks ago. I got 8/1 earlier in the week as I thought if we lose , as I fully expected, he’s likely to be gone before Leicester play on Monday.

As soon as I got out of the match, I managed to get 7s matched. I was surprised that people were willing to lay at that price at the time, but feeling pretty pleased with myself now

Given Lopetegui is about to be sacked by Sevillano, and got sacked by Spain.

Would he make a good replacement.
Would orefer AVB, or Tuchel

Don't think we'll be getting Tuchel, AVB or Poch.

It'll be Lopetegui but be prepared for some more turgid football when we need goals.

I really think it would be a very poor choice.

Just go. Solbakken, Hoddle, Lage. The only three managers I have ever wanted to go. Saunders doesn't count because he was a dead man walking the day he got the job.

These are probably the best players ever to play for Wolves (at the same time) and we are not getting better, each game brings new levels of ineptitude.

Just go.

Thomas Frank for me. Out of the free agents currently available, AVB seems to be the obvious choice, but it remains to be seen how comfortable he'd be working with our recruitment model.

Daniel Farke as a wildcard?

Alex Crook saying the relationship between Lage and the players isn’t/hasn’t been good.

Think that’s been the case for months and we are getting worse not better.

Everything points to him being done here so hopefully they pull their finger out and fuck him off

It's inspiring how much you seem to not care what other people think about how you post.

He has himself to blame for that.

Just throws the players under the bus when we lose. Completely awful management of plenty of them (going back to Fabio last season, right through to Toti today). Behaves like a twat on the touchline.

You can't do all that when you're a total nobody and you're in charge of international players.

I don't mind Frank but I would rather us go for big Ange at Celtic.

I wouldn't be averse to Sampoali or Bielsa despite their age.

Ange would be a great choice, but he seems very happy there. And they're in the champions league. So no chance he's going to leave them right now.

He'd leave. No one wants to manage in Scotland, if any premier League club offered him a deal he'd take it. Winning a league over there means even less than winning one in Portugal though so, no thanks.

I could get behind Bielsa. I used to watch every Leeds game under him and they were never ever boring games.

The amount he annoys me listening to him 2 minutes a week I think I’d have lost my shit with him listening for hours every day.

Has no filter, lies, doesn’t manage the press well, throws players under the bus, never takes accountability, talks literal nonsense, isn’t charismatic. I just don’t think he’s a good leader. He might be lovely outside of football but he doesn’t come as a nice person in football or a leader either.

He's done well consistently with all teams he's had.

All have an identity and all play good football from the off.

He's got charisma in a good way and people tend to love him wherever he's been. The complete opposite to Lage.

Maybe. It's would be a huge step up in quality compared to what he's done previously though. I just don't really trust any manager from those two in Scotland, it's harder to not win the league with Celtic than to win it imo and i don't think I've ever watched an A league game to comment on anything but that.

Never lost a game in the Premier League when we play a striker. What the fuck is he smoking?

I can only think that he's talking about this season only. Where technically it's right. Raul has started two games (Newcastle and Bournemouth) which we drew, and Sasa started against Southampton (but only lasted half the game, and barely touched the ball) and we won.

But what a fucking bullshit argument.

As ever, either he genuinely believes this crap in which case he's unsuitable for the job as he's off his nut, or his English is so tremendously poor that he continually expresses himself in a way that makes him come out with utter rot but it's not what he really means, in which case he's unsuitable for the job as how on earth is he communicating effectively to all our players who don't speak Portuguese.

Incidentally he said in the week that Neves would not play at CH and was not an option there because we needed him in midfield.

That's just a lie, not bad use of English. Along with Toti "not doing pre-season".

So exactly what kind of football does Lage want to play?

The swashbuckling stuff from his successful period at Benfica? The easy-on-the eye stuff that still yielded zero points from the start of his tenure here? The bad Nuno impersonation of much of last season? The tidy, toothless Hoddle stuff we're playing now?

He's like the Boris Johnson of football 'managers', no essential core or belief system
