These comments in this press conference might be the worst yet. Complete and utter fucking bollocks

Lopetegui being available seems like perfect timing if we're still interested, but not sure he's necessarily the answer. From what I've read he's had similar issues at Sevilla in terms of dressing room disharmony, tactical errors, and overall boring football as Lage has had here.

Why does he always say coming to Wolves is the next step for him as if we are some sort of spring board for him ? Once they have the sense to get rid of him he won't manage at this level again.

Just tried googling and couldn't find any links, but am I right in remembering that Lambert seemed fairly bullish during the end-of-season dinner just a few weeks before he was sacked?

It would be nice to think we've asked Lopetegui to join again. I doubt we will though as Bruno has 'probably in Shi's eyes' done a decent job.

I'm sure Lopetegui would be keen to make amends and keep his word, after verbally agreeing to join us last time out. Then again he may have bigger clubs in mind now he's made a name for himself at Sevilla.

He hasn't really got good form for being loyal to his word either given he signed up for Real Madrid whilst Spain manager.

I've seen a few saying that he'd be off at the earliest opportunity, and that's probably true, but that would also mean he'd been successful for us.

Anyway, it's probably cloud cuckoo land, I'm sure we'll be starting the season (against Leicester of course) with Adam Reach and Hwang either side of Keiffer Moore and Lage wind milling in the dug out.

I'm sure if Lage said in his press conference "i'm shit and my tactic are dross" people would say "what an utter load of bollocks"
Whatever he says or does won't be good enough for some.
Just pointing out how funny it looks to me.

I just hope the references to the future mean he's on his way out

Was about three weeks after the end of the season, think we had to wait until Nuno couldn't win the title with Porto.

Realistically Lambert was always leaving though and he knew that, hence him planting stories in the press that he was being undermined and not being allowed to sign who he wanted (I shudder to think who he would have, had we let him).

He would’ve spotted our generation talent early and we would’ve got him for 1million I reckon

Think Preston wanted more than that for Jordan Hugill unfortunately.

Lopetegui has Sevilla in the CL again, and we think he will leave them to come here? It would have to be one helluva deal with lots of assurances.

It's just that he isn't very popular there right now (they've been on rubbish form for quite a long time, sound familiar) and there's a lot of talk he could mutually agree to leave, Sevilla don't particularly want to sack him (presumably because of money) but they'd be quite grateful if he agrees to walk away with minimal/no payoff. You'd think for that to happen he'd have to find another job fairly quickly otherwise why would he say yes to that, and how many jobs are actually available right now (I know ours isn't, but it could be without too much fuss), and we know Fosun were desperate for him originally, he was THE big part of their original plan.

There's a lot of joining of a lot of fairly remote dots there but that's where it's coming from.

Nuno had Porto in the CL and left to join us in the Championship, as shit as we've been for months we're still going to be a top half Premier League team.

It won't happen unless we promise him a fair wedge to spend and presumably he'd be less than keen to lose Neves, Moutinho, Jonny etc.
