Ice Hockey Thread

Was great to see a packed Consol Energy Center last night for the pre season ' Black And Gold ' game . Great to see them back in action, Penguins looked sharp and fit despite the lockout. Pittsburgh loves their hockey, and can't wait for the Season to start on Saturday

It's about bloody time this was all sorted. Can't wait for tonight. Great game to start it all off with as well. Flyers Pens. Giroux has been made our captain so hopefully he starts it with a win. Preferably like the last time we played the Pens too by putting Sid on his arse and pinging one into the top corner. With only a 48 game season though teams will have to be on it from the start. Hopefully it'll be some great hockey from start to finish.

Yeah we've had better starts . It doesn't help though when you have a perfectly good goal chalked off for an incredibly harsh goaltender interference call that even the other team thought was harsh and a game tieng goal chalked off because the over excited ref blew his whistle when he lost sight of the puck a split second before it crossed the line. Least the Rangers are down there with us. Good start for you though. As much as it sucked losing to you it's just great to have hockey back.

We never did really sort our problems out from last year though. Our defence just suck at keeping the puck in the zone on even strength and defensively their just so slow. Twice against the sabres Grossmann got out skated to an iced puck despite having a comfortable advantage when starting to skate for it. He looked as comfortable as I do on ice. Luke Schenn will hopefully turn into a decent defender but beyond Timonen we lack a little at the back with Pronger still out.

I have bet quite a bit on Ice Hockey.


In honesty I haven't got a frigging clue but I have probably won 80% of them.


It seems piss easy to bet blindly on it. Basketball been OK for me too.

Rene Rancourt who usually performs The Star Spangled Banner before the Boston Bruins games, last night dropped the mic and let the fans take over the singing. A fitting gesture to the sad events in Boston .

There's talk of it, but who knows . There was talk of him coming back last night but Doctors said ' No'

To be honest, I think we have a perfectly good chance even without him. We have so many players that are stepping up and all lines are playing fantastic whoever we put in it seems .

And how. Back to help the pens to lose . The guy doesn't get rusty though does he. Every time he comes back he puts points straight on the board. Good to see him back after his injury. Watched too many pucks to the head this year.

Yeah it was pretty awesome. Kind of a boring game, especially for a playoff one. Crowd lulled on several occasions. I guess that just made the OT goal that much more satisfying. My throat is still hoarse from all the chanting. Whenever the ranger fans were being obnoxious or caps were building up to shoot, a guy a few rows behind us would chant in a loud dull voice "LUUUUUUUUUUND-QVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST". :icon_lol: Holtby isn't doing too bad this series so far either; now 59/60.

And Ranger fans had chants during the national anthem... stay classy, new york.

Haha yes we did lose, but yesterdays win made up for that !! Not the best Penguin performance but still a nail biter, thankfully Kunitz got the OT winner for us

It's good to see Crosby back, not just for obvious reasons , but he's took some knocks of late, broken jaw, his teeth knocked out , just good to see him back on the ice .
