How much does success matter?

Had to be Wolves due to my dads side of the family, they've played and supported the club for generations so it was always going to be Wolves. Got to a few games when i was younger but with my dad working at another football club then it wasn't easy but we'd do as many as we can. As i got older i went to more and more games both home and away which then dropped off due to work but that changed in the league 1 season when i was able to go to more games. Got a season ticket the season we were promoted and have been going home and away ever since with my dad. I'll always go if i can, i was resigned to us going back to league 1 very soon towards the end of Morgan's reign and would still be going now. Spend a small fortune following us around the country but i wouldn't swap it and i love it and i pretty much only go for the football, luckily the girlfriend knows this and understands what Wolves mean to me as i think my affinity with the club grows more by the season but it causes no issues.

Success is important especially now because i think we can achieve it but going home and away and having these experiences with my dad means a lot really as it's something i'll never forget but if we do not go through with it i'll still go.

I was born in Gornal and although I travel for work I've always been in Gornal so im extremely lucky in how easy it is to get to home games. The guy who is next seat to me comes from by Watford and goes away.
I've travelled home and away in the long distant past (late 70's) but for every game to be like an away game must be hard on finances

I almost feel sorry that some haven't seen some of the dross that I have seen and at times I have rushed from work in shitty weather and thought what the hell I am doing. I am happy that they attract higher gates but don't take much to those newbies who try and tell me what supporting Wolves means. I remember the Colchester game and I was there think it was Sheringham's last game. Molineux was fantastic to him that night.

I still think I prefer the old days as a kid in that corner of the North Bank surrounded by the smoke and foul language. Still remember Zico Palmer, my hero Kenny Hibbit, the overflowing toilets and those big shining floodlights. Sports report on transistor radios blaring out. I even went up there on my own the once when I was fourteen or fifteen and stood on the South Bank. Molineux is full of the ghosts of passed relatives ...

Success doesn’t mean a huge amount to me, although it is easier to make an 8 hour round trip when you’re hoping to win, rather than expecting to lose and not see any goals. The biggest thing for me about the current success is that it’s helped embed wolves as my sons team rather than Norwich where his mother has a season ticket.

Gives us proper father son time when we watch the wolves, or talk about the wolves and that’s worth more than anything. Looking forward to getting us season tickets so we can see them live far more often - and he’s knackered because once you’ve got your team, your stuck. I just hope he’s stuck with this kind of team rather than the rubbish/occasional good side i had for the first 25 years!
