Horses for The Festival

Ladbrokes, Hills, Stan James, BetVictor and a couple of others according to oddschecker.

Seems like a fair shout as well unless one of the top 4/5 re-route here and Uxizandre is out for the season. He should be the same price as Valseur Lido but isn't because he isn't trained by Willie.

Vroum Vroum Mag would be the one I fear most, but for some reason Mullins has her competing in 2 mile mares hurdles.

I put this on the other thread, but I guess it may as well go here as well, Sky Bet are NRNB on the 4 championship races.

Renneti.

Bit of an awkward one but really talented. Might just relish a bit further, doesn't mind a big field and tailor made for the Coral Cup imo.

I'm going to have a nibble on Saphir du Rheu for the World Hurdle.

He ran no sort of race at the weekend and the 20/1 on offer is excessive for me. He's been prone to racing the odd complete stinker in his career (flopping at Fontwell after his Welsh Champion Hurdle win, awful display when fav for the Fred Winter) so far and he's now off for the fabled Nicholls wind op.

The Hennessy was a clearly a grueling race for him and 22 days isn't long to then be turned out for another G1. Similarly, his Fontwell flop was 20 days after he put in a supreme performance to topple Whisper in the WCH).

I think that's a fair shout Nando. Thistlecrack is still the one to beat for me no matter who turns up, he just looks class but 20/1 about Saphir will look big if he turns up anywhere near his best on the day and as you say had a wind op today i think it was. Even 14s NRNB with Skybet looks decent value.

I see Murphy's shout Tombstone is out tomorrow in an exceptional looking novice hurdle at Leopardstown.

Very much looking forward to seeing how he goes, I do have high hopes for this horse.

4/1 a fair price for you? Can't say I know anything about the horse.

If yesterday proved anything it's surely that the winner of next year's Gold Cup will need to get every yard of 3m 2.5f around Cheltenham and I'm not sure there's many at the business end of the market that will.

I know he's been pulled out of the Lexus today but R2R is no 20/1 shot.

Ticks a lot of the boxes for me.

All of the Gigginstown horses in the Gold Cup picture will stay the trip imo, Don Poli stays all day, Don Cossack was staying on yesterday and if you look back at the Punchestown Gold Cup he was going away, Road To Riches proved he stays last year and Sir Des Champs also has a second in the race behind Bobs Worth.

I still think Don Cossack is the best of the four but not sure he likes Cheltenham and like Nando pointed out on the other thread i'm not sure Cooper rides him very well. If all four turn up they all have decent shouts and 20/1 is a fair price for R2R but pretty sure they think Don Poli and Don Cossack are better than him and i don't think he beats Djakadam.

I'm not so sure that DC was staying on yesterday. He was asked to quicken and found a bit but looked a tired jump to me.

That end of season form artificially inflates him a touch I feel.

Not convinced but opinions are all.

He was definitely staying on, he was being pushed from 4 out so was being asked to quicken for quite a while and when he fell at the second last he had gone from being a length down to Cue Card at the 3rd last to being in front of him. I've watched it again a few times and he just dives at he fence. I'm not saying he will win the Gold Cup as i have my doubts still but i think he's got the most talent of the Gigginstown horses and he was definitely staying on in the King George, whether he would have continued to find if he had jumped the second last we will never know but i think he would.

I will have to stop as the more i talk about it the more i'm talking myself in to backing him for the Gold Cup.

Easy as you like for Barters Hill against two good sorts.

Tea For Two won't be going to Cheltenham. Balls.

Anyone laid down any money yet?

I'm on Identity Thief CH, Sprinter Sacre CC, Cole Harden WH, Cue Card GC all NRNB, the only ante post bet I've had is Blaklion RSA

Village Vic - Brown Advisory Plate
Thistlecrack - World Hurdle
Cue Card - King George and Gold Cup
Cue Card - Gold Cup
Faugheen - Champion Hurdle
Annie Power - World Hurdle
Aux Ptirs Soins - JLT
Don Cossack - Gold Cup

Aux Ptits Soins is going for the World Hurdle. He's just returned to training with Nicholls.

Apache Stronghold for the Ryanair is my only bet at the moment. Can't see Mullins wanting to run Vautour in the Ryanair, he doesn't like the race.

I guess most of the won't run the races that I've put them in. I just put a few quid on something every time I win a bit.
