Grimsby v Wolves 4th Round FA Cup 15/02/26

That'll do. Can't do much on that pitch. Could have been difficult but they had one decent ish effort on goal.

Not to the levels they normally would and no where near the intensity. Joao Gomes would normally be puffing like a steam train. I’ve looked more tired walking the dog.
You weren't being sarcastic!

I know all too well playing on a pitch like this feels 1.5x harder than a normal pitch, you have to run harder, kick the ball harder, head it harder, everything is..... harder....they have really put a shift in today and whilst they've often been awful this season they've dug in really well.

But were they tired? No.

We’re any of the subs suitable? No. Would they have really struggled to adapt compared to the guys already on. Yes. It would have made us worse not better.

He’ll struggle on Wednesday because he’s up against Gabriel.
well yeah, but even more so I think. Running on the at heavy pitch takes a lot out of you and he barely looks capable of 90 mins as it is. I reckon he’ll be sub tbh

I don't think Tolu is shite - I think people are being extremely harsh.

He's not worth what we paid for him, that's not his fault either, but I think he's fine and I think he'll do well next season if he's still here.

Not a great game but we got the job done. Shame Joao's free kick didn't go in, that was a great effort.

I think Tolu is dreadful value for what we paid..he's got some attributes in terms of being a lump who can win some flick ons and hold the ball sometimes. He's ridiculously immobile and I am not confident one way or the other on how he's do in the Championship as I'm assuming him looking like he has concrete in his boot whenever he plays might be an issue..

I'm not saying he will be poor in the Championship, but there has been nothing from him so far to suggest he will be a success. A striker is there to score goals - and that means a) shooting more often, and b) hitting the target. This isn't rugby, you don't get points for kicking or heading the ball over the bar.

Also, early days but there is an absence of interplay play between Tolu and Armstrong. They need to be closer together on the pitch - they can't develop the necessary relationship when they are often in different postcodes.
