General Wolves News

They only bought us to curry favour with the Chinese government who were suddenly really into football. That interest dropped, Fosun's interest dropped.
This isn’t *really* how all that has gone, just for clarity. The effect has been the same, though.

Certainly there are other priorities for the CCP than sportswashing just now.

I was going to say something earlier about how Gully is okay to read/listen to on occasion.

Glad I didn't bother now. Absolute guff.
“And when I say A LOT of goals I mean….
…an average of 5 a season for a man at the peak of his attacking career. A miserable return itself distorted by one outlier run”. Except that’s not what he says. Who is this maniac?!

Making the point that you only see the best of Hwang when he’s played centrally is true in the same sense that you only see the best of me in an Ice Hockey team when I’m played wide right. I’m 10 stone wet through. And can’t ice skate.

Its an appalling take. He shouldn't be starting for us and he is a negative nearly every time he is brought on. Bonatini had that dreadful run goals wise the year we came up, and still offered loads more to the overall than Hwang does.

Some of the points are relevant. I’ve said it before that Hwang does score loads off his arse or “shitty” goals and it can’t just be luck when the samples so big. But it can’t make up for his generally bad all round play. He needs to be scoring 10-15 every year for me to ignore the rest, but he doesn’t.

He doesn't do that consistently though. A player like Shane Long was limited technical wise but he got 56 Prem goals and offered his annoying level of work rate, harrying and pressing. Bringing him on you knew he was going to play that defensive forward or pressure from the front role that was important for a side of our level.

Hwang is a lazy fucker who can occasionally finish. He's much more often though to be found rolling around on the floor prtending to have a head injury.

3 goals in 32 appearances since the start of last season isn't loads or a big sample. He had one purple patch 2 years ago, that's it

I meant a large chunk of his goals not lots in the last 32.

I’ve said he’s shit… but a) he can finish and b) seems to score a disproportionate of lucky goals to be purely luck.

For the avoidance of doubt. I still think he’s shit.
He doesn't do that consistently though.

Which is what I said?

Great news for Jeff who likes fans in the Far East to be aware of Wolve, big in Taiwan now...

Rumours that we may sign Taiwanese striker Cor Win Owt in January

I can’t work out if he’s OK or shit. Certainly doesn’t justify a “good” label. Two managers plus an interim have barely used him. He doesn’t look anything special when he’s been on but has scored a few good goals and also looked like a competition winner. But we could just be using him badly too and looks worse as we’re a bad team.

Not being able to get more than 10-20 mins in this team who is shit, always behind and not get ahead of a striker with zero goals in open play is not a good look.
