They only bought us to curry favour with the Chinese government who were suddenly really into football. That interest dropped, Fosun's interest dropped.
“And when I say A LOT of goals I mean….
…an average of 5 a season for a man at the peak of his attacking career. A miserable return itself distorted by one outlier run”. Except that’s not what he says. Who is this maniac?!
Making the point that you only see the best of Hwang when he’s played centrally is true in the same sense that you only see the best of me in an Ice Hockey team when I’m played wide right. I’m 10 stone wet through. And can’t ice skate.
Its an appalling take. He shouldn't be starting for us and he is a negative nearly every time he is brought on. Bonatini had that dreadful run goals wise the year we came up, and still offered loads more to the overall than Hwang does.
Some of the points are relevant. I’ve said it before that Hwang does score loads off his arse or “shitty” goals and it can’t just be luck when the samples so big. But it can’t make up for his generally bad all round play. He needs to be scoring 10-15 every year for me to ignore the rest, but he doesn’t.

He doesn't do that consistently though. A player like Shane Long was limited technical wise but he got 56 Prem goals and offered his annoying level of work rate, harrying and pressing. Bringing him on you knew he was going to play that defensive forward or pressure from the front role that was important for a side of our level.
