Neto is alongside him there. Have a go at him I say...

He is but he's not watching him, maybe he should be, I dunno. The guy who sees him in plenty of time and is in a position to do something about it is lazy to appreciate it and is too late to get there.

It's one of those goals that you can deconstruct ans attribute blame all over. Traore's pass and Boly and Coady not holding the same line are the worst imv, but in reality it's just a great counter attacking goal

@t3ch I love Neves too. TBH, I feel Neves since January has been very good. Possibly just about pips Moutinho into third , but it's a tight call.

It’s certainly not a position I feel strongly enough about to disagree with. Having said that, even so, it would hardly be a damning indictment on the 23 year old to be placed immediately below two of his talented and vastly more experienced international contemporaries, who’ve yet to hit their decline.

There was a line in an Atlantic article about Man Utd that I found interesting

“United’s wages are the highest in the Premier League at £332 million annually (Manchester City’s are £316 million, Liverpool £310 million) but their wage to turnover ratio of 54 per cent is third-lowest in the division (Wolves’ is 53 per cent,Tottenham Hotspur’s 39 per cent) and with Alexis Sanchez now off the accounts, there is flexibility.”

I knew we we doing well financially, but this explains why we are able to keep buying players (along with our sales this season). Our small squad and lack of overpaid out of favour players is undoubtedly a big factor.

Traditionally as well though, league place correlates roughly with wage spend (not %, but we know our income is nowhere near the big 6 levels) so we are really outperforming that measure.

Great news all! As I'm sure is etched in your memory, Raúl Jiménez's upturn of form last year began with meeting yours truly at Pets At Home. Well, today I've met and had a chat with Rui Patrício in the car park at Sainsbury's. Prepare for a string of world-class performances.

I wonder how much of Nuno not being interested in Hwang was a culture fit as much of a footballing fit? I don't think there are too many doubts over his ability (be interested to see how he does once he breaks into Leipzig's first XI) and he would seem to be a fit in the front 3.

Very well deserved, but I'll question it a little bit

5 years for a player who can literally only play one position in the PL, he wouldn't even be competent in any other and then that one position is borderline unique to our formation. If Nuno decides to change that or bring in a player who is better defensively, then that saddles us with a large contract we won't be able to move on from

Wouldn’t make too much of the length of contract - that means very little. It just means he’s got a pay rise, which is completely deserved so good on him.

Suppose it also suggests that he's a key part of Nuno's plan (even if we did improve on him in that position).

Won't be that hard to sell an England international if it comes down to it (I don't see us ever going to a back four under Nuno anyway).

Nuno is wed to three centre halves. Coady has barely missed a minute in three years. He is only mid twenties. This is sensible.
