General Wolves News

Due to your budget? Items are the same price whether they are paid for via cash or contactless?

Self control then. When I go Wolves and we're drinking I'll take some cash with me and that's my budget. I write down everything that I spend on my card/online

Apparently we played a behind closed doors friendly earlier against Huddersfield which finished 2-2 (Neves pen, Vinagre)

Thought that was odd when I read Jota's interview on the app this morning. Going on about "our first game is Friday", I was wondering what he was on about.

I like to think we booted in an own goal in the last second just to make Cyber turn the colour of a space hopper.

I don't understand why a till that does cash AND contactless payments is so foreign to some people. I was in Sainsbury's earlier and they seem to have mastered it.

Contactless is the way forward. I'm in Singapore at the moment and haven't withdrawn a cent, what I do is check the conversion rate and then just use card everywhere. That way, I won't be coming home with notes and coins I can't use.

Paddy - why not calculate what you actually spend in the ground, then split your budget by loading that amount onto a card like Revolut, and using cash for pre game pints? It's not like you lose the money on the pre pay card, as you can use Revolut at ATMs, or for example, you stuck a tenner on it and spent a fiver, you would only need to stick a fiver on it the following week. You have a season ticket so it's not like you're never gonna be at Molineux again.

Paddy wants to use cash, he has his own reasons for it. I don't know why people are now trying to find a solution for an issue which was clarified 24 hours ago doesn't exist. Nor does he need patronising or judging for his perceived lack of self control. Leave the big purple bastard alone

I wasn't patronising or judging him, just trying to provide options.

Shouldn't be that much of a big deal to accept cash & contactless payments - most shops seem to manage that without serious issues.

Tend to agree with Paddy that I take an amount of cash that I don't want to exceed (though there have been times when I have failed and had to use the card as well as a backup)

(DDW - agree with Darlo - bugger off from here - you have more interestings things to be involved in)

The bigger question for me is why you would ever want or need to buy stuff from the ground...

We're never in the ground until 10 minutes before kick off (sometimes less) so no time for another drink unless you're being silly. Half time is a waste of time in terms of drinking and a shit experience, and as for food you have myriad options before or afterwards, all cheaper.

You could always take your own sandwiches like an oddball if you really can't go two hours without grazing.

I quite often buy a pie at half time. Keeps me going after the Masala Express on the way to the festivities. Not all the time. And I sometimes like a bag of starburst or munchies.

Beer in the ground would be a rare bird indeed. Only for a Sunday early early kick off like Man City was last season that I can remember.

I rarely if ever buy anything in the ground, then again I rarely drink before watching a match.

I've had years of watching shit teams, what we do now is best appreciated sober imo.

It's a general point :icon_lol:

Like people who buy food at the cinema. I might watch a film later, I don't think I'll need a mountain of food to get me through the mammoth running time :)

I'm with you here, I don't get it either. The same people eat a mountain of food and drink when they get on a plane. No matter what time of day or where they're going, even if it's an hour to Europe.

Just about to get on a plane and feeling rather peckish. Apologies in advance.
