General Wolves News

For his sake I hope something like happened. Should be enjoying his retirement, not worrying about a 450k bill

I think he was a building manager or something and of an age with a final salary pension so I would guess he has a decent amount of capital

Fucking disgraceful though that his lawyers even accepted the case, regardless of whatever caveats they presumably got him to sign

He won't have that insurance. It got thrown out in hours when the judge booked in months. That is nowhere near suggesting 60% success.

Plus, that only covers HIS costs. It looks like he has been ordered to pay our costs.

ATE insurance covers adverse costs not your own. I take it out all the time when litigating on behalf of liquidators.

As for merits, someone must have been advising him that he had good prospects of success for him to take it this far. Unless he's completely deluded and kept paying his lawyers whilst ignoring their advice that he wouldn't succeed.

To be thrown out in 1 day, and for the reason that it was, you would hope that any legal counsel he sought would have advised him not to pursue.

The only reason I can think is that he was pig headed and ignored his legal counsel or he sought very, very poor legal guidance.

I mean the judge has basically ruled in 1 day that he has no chance of proving his claim, that is about as damning as you can get

If they gave him advice that gets that insurance to kick in, then they were clearly shysters who deserve all they get.

The judge had originally pencilled in a ruling "later in the year".

He made this call after 1 fucking day. There was absolutely no fucking case. He got his day in court. And now the court costs will fuck him financially for life. A ridiculous action that should never have been put before a court. His advisors are a very poor lot to have allowed him to end up in this situation, no matter how much he may have felt he had a claim.

Some of the best legal advice at times is "you have nothing, back away and avoid the consequences of a court telling you that is the case".

This, this, this!

Couldn't tell you how many times I've had to tell a Client that he/she should not pursue their trademark because there exists something very similar to it. People sometimes pour their hearts into their works and marks, and having to tell them to abandon them is gut-wrenching. But it is my job to help and provide the best recommendations in my power.

This situation is heart-breaking for my, as a Patent and Trademark Attorney. The poor sod should never have been allowed to take it into court. Send a letter, contact the club, see if a settlement is possible. If not, drop it.

Anything interesting said?

I find the whole release of stadium pictures without accompanying press release / further information a little odd.

Religious nutjob by the looks of it.

Gullibility is obviously strong in this one.

I hope some investigation is done into this, I'd guess that he's been put up to this

Not really. Was just a bit of a fluff piece. Talked about how Fosun didnt really know much about football, how its not like their other businesses, but it was largely going over stuff we already knew.

Regarding the stadium he reiterated incremental expansion up to a final size of 45-50k

Somebody on the Mix found that Davies fella's Twitter account. Interesting read, if legit he's been taken advantage of me thinks.

Take a look at peter davies (@seventhborn1): https://twitter.com/seventhborn1?s=09

"when i see those have been pop stars trying to ressurect their past, if you are so desperate for money, why don t you just get a propper job" lol

Someone on here should be able to shed some light? I'm sure there was a poster who knows him, he used to post defending him and thought he had a chance of winning the case, can't remember his username now.

He is on the mix 1965somethingorother. Spent yesterday afternoon saying that the case hadn’t been lost and the BBC were lying. Had to backtrack today and looked very stupid.
