Hi Alan. I am definitely not looking for an argument with you BUT I just looked again and I said.... 'less than well educated'. We could have a discussion for a month about what that means, especially in the context of his recent behaviour and what society wants from 'well educated' people. My claim is actually quite tame when compared with other descriptors used on here and elsewhere about him.

To be honest, he could have just refused to play & we’d have had no choice but to sell. There was a point in time when I thought he was getting pretty close to refusing to play to force a move when he was being a proper mardy arse during the window. I can only assume someone eventually had a word in his ear, but despite that we still got treated to #glassesgate & then his current ban.

I’ll be sad to see him go because he’s a good player and has scored some great goals for us - but I can’t say I’ve particularly liked the way he’s gone about his business in recent months. Still - we’d be down without him so thanks & good luck to him, I guess. As discussed on a different thread a few weeks back, he still doesn’t get near my top 5 favourite Fosun era players.

I've been told that he's been speaking to Braga on our behalf about Francisco Chissumba as well

To be honest, he could have just refused to play & we’d have had no choice but to sell. There was a point in time when I thought he was getting pretty close to refusing to play to force a move when he was being a proper mardy arse during the window. i guess that could still happen if a best bid is below £62.5m and we turn it down, though it seems an unlikely scenario. we still want enough interest to guarantee the release clause value is reached, though I'd be tempted not to play him once we're safe, which is sad. and you wouldn't want him getting injured.

I imagine that we speak to all sorts of clubs about all sorts of players really, have to be prepared incase we need to improve/replace any position.

Only thing it really tells us is the profile of player that we're interested in, although seeing as we recently went from trying to sign Manu Silva & Johnny Cardoso to actually signing Marshall Munetsi maybe that doesn't tell us much either...
