General Wolves News

Well we played Arsenal away in the first one, and got 4 points in the other to, so it's unfair to say it's poor, especially when 2 of his best players have been out, I don't think enough has been made of RAN and Neto's absence, we were always going to be less exciting with such a huge drop off in flair.

If we play like we did against Forest with those 2 back, then I'd be worried.
The bolded bit I agree with

I think his in game management has been poor, not the results (although we should've beat Forest). 4 from 3 isn't a bad collection of points but the two home games have been poor fare.

Only Spurs and Everton you could say he made a difference with his subs and no games with a change of tactics have yielded points.
And Bournemouth? Bringing Doyle on for Gomes at HT was brave, and turned us around.

We came back twice against Newcastle too (again bringing on Doyle)

Certainly agree the quality/entertainment was poor, but it happens sometimes, both games were always going to be more difficult than on paper given their previous 5-0 defeats.

From winning/losing positions
Liverpool -3
Luton -2
Villa -2
Bournemouth +3
Newcastle +1
Spurs +3
Forest +1
What change did GoN make to affect those games?

I wouldn't put Villa on him, nearly as Doc gets away with a shocking penalty call.

Fulham, Palace, Sheffield United, Forest are all on GoN as is Luton.

I wouldn't count Liverpool and Brighton although the second half performances were as poor as I can ever remember a HT managerial effect.

For the same reason I don't count Bournemouth as Cook was sent off which changed the game.

I had Spurs, Newcastle and Everton as changes he made that gained us points from tactical or sub changes.

Newcastle yes, Cook getting sent off had the biggest effect on the game imo.

It's just a factual breakdown as opposed to a subjective view in response to EPs question

VAR had a bigger impact on most of them too…

IMO I don’t think it’s remotely quantifiable without huge doses of bias

Isn't that the point? You're biased towards GoN, I'm clearly biased against. Others mileage may vary.

Tony put up the factual stuff which is +1pt in GoN's favour but doesn't really tell anybody anything about the games themselves.

Again I disagree we were well on top.
Who's this then :D

Good win for us today. Only saw the first half and we were unlucky to be 1 down, really soft goal to concede and all 3 CB's were shite on it. But that was the only negative, bar Doc, he was fucking shit.

Some lovely interplay and movement from Neto, Cunha and Hwang and thought they carved out some really good opportunities.

Didn't see the 2nd half which I was gutted about given what happened. Really glad we played well and won.

Wouldn’t say I’m biased towards him. Prettt neutral on him currently and my posts today have been neutral. You interpreted one as me “painting him as a good game manager” which I didn’t do.

You look clearly biased toward to me as I do against to you.

Again your view will vary as you've proved.

That doesn't say we were well on top, just unlucky to be 1 down.

It was a pretty even game and the Cook card was the defining moment for me.
Pretty much all Bournemouth's xG comes from the goal (0.64):

They offered virtually nothing else before or after the red card, which of course made a difference but we were the better team by most measures before that.

You don't need to justify your stance. I'm happy with my view.

Mostly I'm happy with GON but this obsession with playing Doc (I'd rather have Toti at LB every time) is just plain weird, he's also made some quite negative and defensive subs a few games when we've been well in with a chance to go on and win.

I haven’t really said anything positive and called some negativity harsh. That screams neutral to me…

And I know what my opinion is. As I said earlier he’s hasn’t achieved anything yet. I could take or leave him. In all likelihood he’s got the job for another 12 months at least anyway, and given the owners lack of ambition he will keep a job with a par performance.
