General Wolves News

I thought in that section from 10.30-11 he was excellent. Spoke articulately and made sense. You can absolutely see why the players have been saying they're enjoying playing for him.

There's a bit of Nuno in there, pressing but with a purpose, so you create overloads in the right areas on the right points.

I honestly don't like going on about Lage all the time but the way we permanently sat off teams, win lose or draw, absolutely drove me up the wall. Such awful tactics.

I wouldn't look too deeply into it, I'm surprised the bloke is capable of operating a phone given his tweet. (What's the verb for posting on X now? X-ing? Urgh..)

Surely thats someone just taking the piss, he can't actually be serious?

I've got to hold my hands up, he's surprised and impressed me tonight. I know it seems a bit shallow but having him explain the thought process behind some of the moves has been really insightful
Some of it is just common sense (Dawson has areas where he looks excellent and areas where he looks terrible, so keep it in Zone A as much as we can) but equally you don't often see it spelled out.

There's more to him than I first thought, that Doyle for Gomes (and I bloody love Joao Gomes) change on Saturday was some excellent management.

You can't play close to 500 professional games over a 20 year career without knowing a very good deal about how the game works. Played under a few 'systems' managers too

Do other Premier League Managers appear on that show and do similar ?

It's nice to hear and all that , but I'd prefer it to be further into the season where we're nicely positioned in the table .

I'm happy with O' Neil and his Management team , just think it's a bit early to be blowing our trumpet .

All the time.

Although this is probably the most indepth one. Sky plan to use this format throughout the season though. Looking at individual game plans

The exception that proves the rule?

Ignoring all the other exceptions, of course. Like Lampard, Gerrard, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton... none of which have proven successful as managers. So I wonder if the more successful and celebrated you were as a player, the less successful you might be as a manager? 🤔🤔 I'll have to think about whether there are exceptions that prove this rule too... 😂

Ok , wasn't aware of that . I wonder can a Manager decline to appear - or maybe it's part of the deal Sky have with the PL .

If it was obligatory they'd get the likes of Pep and Klopp on.
