General Wolves News

I have doubts about Silva ever making it as a striker in the Premier league but I'm not reading anything in that article that's shocking or coming across as self obsessed or childish, no more than any other young pro footballer anyway.

"Of course my president [Jeff Shi] is amazing, he speaks to me like a son, I feel the love from him.” 🙄

Shi's ego is a bigger problem than Fabio's

If it wasn't for Shi we wouldn't be relying on someone who cost us an arm and leg and is probably not fit for purpose

The odd thing is the way he describes people trying to convince him to stay, like he's a regular goal-scorer for us and would be a big miss if we went. I was expecting something a bit more...humble I suppose and more reflective of what he's actually done to date.

It's possible Shi has given the edict that Fabio must stay at all costs, but that would be conjecture.

The two will always be inextricably linked.

My initial view was similar to that of Tredman and Lycan, on reflection I think he's emotionally very immature. What can come across as arrogant and self absorbed I think is actually very needy. The only way imo he'll make the best of himself is to play football at a level straight away that is the same as where his ability is currently at. I'm not going to speculate what that is, but he's not going to grow into a PL player by being one. He's not robust enough physically or mentally for that. We should sell in Jan for the good of everyone...except Shi.

I just wish we'd sign a proper centre forward so we could finally bin Fabio off and be rid of him for good.

He doesn't score regularly, he doesn't hold the ball up, he's not quick, he doesn't work the channels, he doesn't particularly link play very well, when he comes up against a physical defender (which is most weeks in this league), he loses the battle 100% of the time, he's not good in the air...

Then there's the fact he just doesn't seem very likable as a person or character. You're playing in the best league in the world and paid millions to do it. Fucking get on with it and stop your whining. If he needs to be persuaded to stay, he can get in the sea as far as I'm concerned. I just never see him becoming a regular goalscorer in the PL for us or anyone.

I love the way some people on here still think Fabio might come good.

He might get quicker, he might get stronger, he might turn into a goal machine.

He won’t. He’s shit. He’s hardly even a footballer.

He’s the biggest pup we’ve bought since Kevin Ashley.

Is this the first strawman you've built today or did you make one before your breakfast?

Interviews take place in the footballing world daily, but it is not often a footballer seeks out a journalist to tell his story – and Silva was intent on telling his.

Anyone else get vibes of the Nash/O'Hara exclusive from many moons backs?

According to Silva everyone is great, Lopetegui, O Neil, Hobbs, Shi, the fans. Pity that the only person who needs to be and isn't is the one doing the talking.

I’ve reached the same conclusion. He’s just not got anything exceptional in his locker and a lot of his skills are way short of the required standard to succeed in the PL, most notably a desire to go about his business in a quiet way and try prove he is good enough. If we hadn’t paid so much for him he’d be long gone and forgotten about by everyone except Elephant memory Deutsch.

I think this is the best summary of Fabio/the situation that I’ve seen.

“In the future we will see. The future is not important if you don’t think about the present, so if the present is good, the future will of course be good.

“How much I do in the present will be better in the future, so the present is the most important thing"

I know English is his second language but...... You wot m8?!!

That's quite clear isn't

Do well now and the future will be good. I can leave Wolverhampton and move to a big club.
Do shit and I am relying on Jorge to look after me like a Guedes or Ola John and move to a big club

Sa signs a new 4 year contract with an option of a further 12 months
