General Wolves News

Yeah that was what I thought too.

Both Reading and Norwich have complained about our fans attacking them too.

So other than local rivals, we have Norwich, Bolton and Reading that hate us, bit weird.

Never known Bristol City have any beef with us before this bloke, however we do have a really good record against them and I think Bully scored more goals against them than any other side?
Do Bolton hate us? Thought it was just the other way round

Maybe, I'd assumed so as the atmosphere was always white hot against them. Its died off a fair bit now though I guess compared to 90s and early 00s.

I made the mistake of watching highlights of the McGinley playoff games the other day, stirred it all up again!

Turner was still in charge though.
Yes you're right, in my mind's eye I was picturing the picture of Taylor stood with new signings John De Wolf and Don Goodman but that was of course a bit later, he came in towards the end of that 93/94 season

I walked away from the season opener ironically against Bristol City thinking that we'd piss the league. Its probably the 100th time that I've said it on here but if it wasn't for Lee Howey I think we'd have been promoted.

Turner was still in charge though.
Thomas truly looked like an England International playing in the second tier that day.

The guy is clearly pissed off because a middling town (city) in the West Midlands has a recent history of Premier league football, with a couple of excellent seasons, while his city, which he thinks is superior (obviously in some ways it is) has done the square root of fuck all in football in living memory.
I'm not sure any of the incidents he mentions are true apart from him having a poor experience and Wolverhampton being a shithole.
It's very funny.

As sport goes Bristol is hardly a hot bed, for its size it’s under performance is embarrassing. Two clubs that only have about 4 top flight seasons between them, not one major trophy.
As rugby goes it’s dwarfed by its nearby neighbours Bath.
Far more famous for its maritime history but as a sporting powerhouse nowhere near.

Bath v Bristol v Gloucester is ace in the rugby (says the Bath RUFC fan). Bath first win the (then) John Player Cup against Bristol in 1984 ( Stuart Barnes missed a late winning penalty for Bristol before joining the far superior side that summer) and their fans thought it was a blip. I went to Twickenham with Bath for something like 7 out of the next 8 years. Either us or Leicester always seemed to win the league and Bath also got to be European champions.

Best team in Bristol is actually Rovers in terms of experience. City fans are absolute cocks.

I presume the incident involving a Norwich fan dying at Molineux is actually a reference to the Watford fan who suffered life threatening injuries a few years back unless I've forgotten an incident involving the Canaries?
Norwich fans had a whinge after the FA Cup game in 2022. A fun read if you have a couple of minutes and can sift through the bullshit.

I believe there was some in the 70's according to my dad.

We'd already won promotion and played them on the last day at Burnden Park with them and Forest chasing 3rd.

We actually turn up and beat them 1-0 sending Forest up.

Forest fans on social media forget that basically, we made their football club not Cloughie ;)

@darlowolf64 is your man for the story of that day.

Yeah. Kenny Hibbitt scored IIRC. Forest players were holidaying in Majorca when we won. We also won Derby the title in 72 when we beat lufc 2-1.

The idea of Fabio having any leverage is laughable.

He had an average record for half a season in Belgium. A league where Paul Onuachu scored 70 goals in three seasons. One of the worst Premier League players I've seen in the last 10 years. Then couldn't get a game ahead of Luuk de Jong in the Netherlands.

He needs to get his head down and get on with it. I'm sure his dad will be spouting off the usual crap in the press sooner rather than later, but if he's as good as he thinks he is, let's see you knock some goals in for us this season.
