General Wolves News

Why wouldn’t they? Isn’t the nature of investing for a minority stake often that you do it purely to increase the value of your stake.
At that level nobody invests for purely money and certainly not in football clubs.

Little bit of kudos and, assuming the club you invested in is stable* in PL, a long history of steady increase in value. Seems a pretty easy gig.

*I can see the obvious flaw here.

Traore loan will be automatically made permanent based on appearances according to Liam. Doesn't clarify how many but that it's low and expected to be hit soon.

£9.5m is excellent business.

If I have to hear one more commentator mention that Bouba is "physical, pacey, and loves a tackle" I'll asphyxiate myself.

One of his best attributes so far is his attacking instincts from that deeper position, IMO. Not in the mould of Nunes, obviously, but he still seems to look for forward passes more often than Neves and/or Moutinho do.

Small sample size, of course.

I'd say his mobility and reading of the game defensively would be the standouts for me. Must be up there for interceptions per 90 since he started for us. He does always look to go forward though and some of the first time through balls he's played have been brilliant. He looks a proper all rounder.

He is physical, pacey and loves a tackle.

You need to let this go Alan, you're seeing something that isn't there.

He looks very similar in style to Patrick Viera to me who was the ultimate box-to-box midfielder imo.

It's great business based on what we've seen so far.

"This particular case"?

That research didn't just look at one match.

But we are talking about one particular player. A Wolves player whose main characteristics are his box-to-box abilities.

Look, I can't force y'all to read the article.

The fact of the matter is that there is a racially based disparity in the way players are described by commentators and it is nails on a chalkboard to me, and commentators need to be better.

Which I'm sure you agree involves more than just being strong and fast.

Of course but the biggest characteristics are those along with being physically able to go box to box.

I think that's underselling the positional awareness required to be effective in that role a bit but you're not wrong.

Look, we know by now that you and I won't persuade each other on this matter. I'm happy enough to leave it alone with you personally, but if the commentators start going on about his physical attributes at the expense of his mental ones (which they have done, you should have heard the way he was being talked about when he got that quick yellow on his debut), I'm retaining my right to whinge about it.

It's the sociologist in me. Can't turn it off.

Alan, if Bouba wasn’t physical, pacey and if he didn’t love a tackle, you might have a point. But he is & he does.

I’ve also seen other parts of his game mentioned plenty of times on commentary.

I do feel like backing him for a booking every time he starts for us is easy money until he gets a bit more streetwise, but early signs for him are very, very good.
