General Wolves News

All a bit odd but I guess we are giving the thumbs up for this shit.

No chance he plays this week so I guess no real harm with him training with them rather than doing 1 to 1 stuff at Compton.

I've seen quite a bit of speculation that he's putting his operation off until after the world cup. I'm not gonna lie, I'll be fuming if he starts for them and then is out injured when the world cup is over

Stop this sensible posting immediately.

If he’s fit to play at the WC but not when he returns Mexico can pick up his wages until he is fit.

Happy to be accused of being all tin foil hat here, but walking off in the warm up, going to Mexico for a fortnight, leaving early to go to join up with their squad whilst saying he thinks he'll be fit for their friendly on the 17th, 5 days after our last game seems...convenient

As I said, a bit odd.

Many a rumbling on his state of mind and maybe we are being overly generous on his rehab to ensure he gets to what will probably be his last World Cup. Is that to the detriment of the club, possibly but at best are we looking at him making a sub bench appearance on Saturday.

Maybe we have already agreed to let him go in the January window and therefore it doesn't really matter.

Not sure who is advising Jiminez , but he's need to start looking elsewhere for advice .

The likes of Walker , Chilwell , Varane , James , have all picked up injuries and have accepted the fact that their World Cup is over . They are staying with their clubs to rehab .
Raul Jiminez is doing something completely different - almost as if Mexico pay his wages , which they clearly don't .

He might not have liked Lage , but he now knows we have a new Manager , a quality one too , and he's still acting in a very strange way .

The difference is he'll play in the World Cup

Not really.

Injured and pushing to get fit for possibly his last World Cup. No world cup and he is with us doing the rehab he is doing with them

Club are clearly happy to let him do this. He isn't on strike (our medical team will love him, already got a paid for holiday in Mexico out of him)

It's the rumoured operation that makes things complicated.

If he's being nurtured along to make the world cup and then fucks off for the operation as soon as Mexico are eliminated, missing more of Wolves season, then questions need to be asked.

Nearly as good as the job of being flown out to Mumbai to wander round in the Wolfie costume trying to drum up interest from our massive Indian supporter base.

Thing is, if he's "mentally fit" to play for Mexico in the pressure cooker of a World Cup, he's "mentally fit" to play for us - the club that pay his wages. Whether he's "physically fit" is another question - but if he's working up his physical fitness to be involved for Mexico, and then as soon as they get knocked off, he's back on the treatment table for 'X' amount of time, it ain't great.

Like Johnny, I don't think we'll see him play for Wolves again.

Yep, can't really argue with that although that report wasn't overly clear on the comments. It it is a I am going to Qatar then having an op, its a big bag of bollocks from us (carrying on with a theme from the last 18 months). Could be his comments are, if I can't get fit, then I will have an op and that is not as bad although then you are hoping its a 4 week break and he is back in January and still not great from us.

There is definitely a leaning from us on doing what is right for him rather than the club. If that is being doing for mental health reasons it is understandable, given his circumstances over the last couple of years but if thats the case we failed to properly cover ourselves as this isn't something that just happened in September.

Try picking apart mental illness.

If in his head the only thing that matters is playing for his Country in the World Cup and he has been struggling, then everything else will go to pot. Never a case of if you can do this you can do that.

Obviously complete guesswork from us all on what is going on and I agree it is all leading to him leaving the club and I think he will move back to either Mexico or (as someone said on here the other day) the MLS but to a team close-ish to the Mexican border

He’s picking up over 100k a week from WWFC without even trying to play for WWFC.

It absolutely stinks and until proven otherwise (I don’t think it will be) then the situation is a bit of a joke. If we’re still using his head injury as an excuse (it isn’t as he’s going to play for Mexico) then he shouldn’t be picking up a salary. If he’s physically injured but going to spend 3 months trying to be fit to play 3 games for Mexico only to then have an operation to be out for another 3 months Then that is nothing short of disgraceful and would only be acceptable if he wasn’t getting paid.

Liam saying Raul is back with us at the end of the week. Not playing, so no doubt asked to return to meet JL and the new coaching team.
