General Wolves News

Liam saying Raul is back with us at the end of the week. Not playing, so no doubt asked to return to meet JL and the new coaching team.
Let’s hope the effort doesn’t exacerbate his injury.

Certainly racking up those air miles. Anyone would think he’s sponsored by a Mexican Airline…

He’s been a brilliant player for us, literally the best striker outside the top 6, and he had a terrible, terrible injury.

Now he’s taking the piss. He’s basically taking the entire gate receipts from the Billy Wright Stand every week, there’s no sign of him ever playing for us again and he can’t even be arsed to explain what his injury is.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him announce his retirement after the World Cup.

Whichever way it is he’s completely disrespecting us and we need to sack him and move on.

I’m not sure sacking is the answer, we should have sent him on loan to some Mexican club in zero wages. He was a great player for us, his career and possibly life ruined by an out of control thug. We’re not a charity though.

Sacking is way too strong , but he is messing us about . New Sheriff in town now , let's see how Raul treats Julen .

Dunno if it matters, but at some point recently Raúl has filmed promos for the World Cup’s Spanish language coverage over here, all kitted out for Mexico and everything. Saw a couple of the ads this weekend.

He’s absolutely mugging us off if he plays at the WC unless it’s the most conveniently timed injury the world has ever seen. At a time when we have zero strikers and in a massive relegation battle it’s pretty shocking from him. Maybe there’s a legit reason behind all this but at best it’s fucking weird.

IF this is true, and I`m not convinced, then I hope he has a great campaign. We might get some decent money for him then. Wouldn`t want him here if it`s true.

If he's not fit then he's not fit.

The only weird bit is the Southampton game, where at 2pm he was ok to be on the bench (on merit as we'd signed a new striker and he was shite at Bournemouth) but at some point in the following 40 minutes or so he had "chronic fatigue" (this could have been Lage's shite English and him being a terrible liar, who knows) and hasn't been sighted since.

As it is, Mexico play their opening game a fortnight today and he hasn't kicked a ball since 31 August. I doubt he'll play.

Well he can't play for us right now, so not really mugging us off is he.

He wants to be fit for the World Cup, that is fair enough. As it stands he hasn't even taken part in any proper training outside of running around the football pitch, its a 50/50 he makes it. The total bollocks of the World Cup being in November is not helping.

The only time it becomes a bit of a fuck up is if Wolves have sanctioned him doing everything to get to Qatar then he goes for an op but if they are happy to agree to stuff like that, then its probably because he is at the end of his time with us

Probably time to switch up that '80% of training is offensive work' to 90%

If you notice we have had more shots than more than half of the teams on that list, because they are pot shots they make the conversion rate look artificially low. The issue isn't really that, although it doesn't help, it's the creation or lack of, of decent chances

Maybe we’d create more good chances if we stopped shooting from too far out.

We've got the worst goals scored and the 5th worst xG in the league.

You can do what you like with stats , but the table above doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know .

Lopetegui starts his Wolves career with a home game v Gillingham.
