FA Cup 5th Round Bristol City (A) 17.02.2019

I was just asking incase folk in your own personal circle of hell had said we would easily beat Bristol

I'm not convinced we will be going full strength.

I hope we do but I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a similar team to the Shrewsbury game, which will make this very tough indeed.

I don’t think we’ll go full strength either. Almost certainly Ruddy will be back in the sticks - and I’d be very surprised to see the likes of Traore, Cav (even Vinagre) left out of the starting 11.

I think it will be pretty much the same team that played Liverpool. That was our only game that week and this is the same case.

Bristol won (just) by the dodgiest penalty ever.

We should go absolute full strength and smash them up. We then have a week before Bournemouth so the first team can definitely cope.

I don't like it when you mention "smashing" teams Pad. You have predicted smashing Huddersfield and Fulham and that didn't go to plan at all.

Just some posts I have seen floating around on social media. As you say, despite the fact it took us two games to edge past Shrewsbury, some folk never learn!

There is no replay. You have only three subs to change it up if things are going wrong. So I would much rather we went full strength with the intention of putting it absolutely to bed early and then make the changes to rest key players when the tie is won.

With a promotion push on and Norwich away next week, very much doubt Bristol City will be at full strength either, FA Cup to them is probably less of a priority then it is for us.

Absolutely full strength for me, and that includes the goalie

Yes, full strength for me too. It'll be a very tricky game and we'll need to play well to get through. I wouldn't look at Brizzle's upcoming game with Norwich as a sign that they'll rest players - they didn't do that in their league cup run last season, they're in front of their own fans - they'll want to go for it.

Full strength minus Jota (needs to get rid of this knock) and Rui for me.

LETS PUT IT THIS WAY. iT IS THE ONLY COMPETITION WE CAN WIN THIS SEASON. So I say go for it.

Cyber wants a wembley visit and its well overdue.

Agree with going with a full strength team (less any of them who are not completely 100% as it's really not worth the risk)

Would like a Wembley appearance in a meaningful game, just a pity that they play the Semi Finals there as well as that detracts from the occasion of the actual Final

This is one tough match. 9 in a row and they have good recent EFL cup pedigree. We have to be on our A game and play our strong team. Tie has to be settled so we dont want a draw and penalties cause we are shit at that too.

The plus is we are to Bristol City what Huddersfield are to us. For some reason we are their bogey team and Huddersfield are ours.

Surely them having won 9 in a row and unbeaten in 15 games makes this a possibility for us to break their "streak" :run:

We also haven't beaten a Championship team away in the FA Cup since 2009. Streaks just begging to be broken.

My Dad was saying something similar the other day - think the older generation has been spoilt with Wembley trips. I'm happy to go for the semi-final, last time (and only time) I've been was 1988

Edit - no offence intended Parkin :)

Never seen Wolves at Wembley. Sherpa Van vs Burnley and the weirdo Mercantile Credit competition was the season before I started going, then the year after Roger Hansbury happened. Poodle permed bastard.

Yeah, same here. Been to Wembley several times (2 x old Wembley, 2 x new Wembley for Play Off Finals, 1 x Roger Waters concert), but never seen Wolves there.
