FA Cup 5th Round Bristol City (A) 17.02.2019

Happy with that, it was always going to be hard

Usual concern though about not being able to up the intensity when our opponents do.

First half we were miles better, second half they were better

Oh for God's sake he was on for five minutes. It takes a sub 10 minutes to get into the pace of a game.
Don't bother mate, you'll never get a balanced view, some people have to serve their agenda. FWIW the first one was never a foul, their CB just jumped on him.

Well Traore did nothing but lose the ball and give away fouls. I think I was right tbh.

Job done though. Got lucky with the handball decision, but some good resolute defending at the end.

Ha ha.. Yeah he was awful those whole 3 minutes ffs.

Really good first half, had to withstand a lot of pressure in the 2nd - really pleased with our defensive performance. Brizzle didn't really create any clear cut chances.

It was a tricky tie and we've come away from it with a very well earned win.

1st half we controlled it, 2nd half we never adjusted to their changes at all and were definitely 2nd best. Feel like we were lucky to not give away at least 1 penalty, but ho hum, we're through to the quarter finals, even if we were a little lucky.

They definitely created a few chances, mate. I know we hit the post twice (really wish Doc’s had gone in), but they will feel hard done by after that second half.

Ultimately we’ve scraped through against a team who were on a great run of form. Hope we get a favourable draw in the next round now. Millwall at home, or something.

With BC's current form that was always going to be a difficult game - we are still in the hat & that's all we needed to do

They had lots of half-chances and longer shots but nothing clear cut. We defended well.

When is the draw? Monday night after Chelsea v Man Utd?

As of this moment we are 2nd favourites for the Cup. That's a long way from League One...

Not sure we should be - one of MU/Chelsea (whichever gets through) plus Watford will be a real threat

Yes - once Man Utd or Chelsea are through we're back to 3rd favs. Watford have always been a long odds for this year's Cup. They're still 14/1 on Betfair. Maybe they could beat Man City for us...

Hope Brentford get through and we draw them at home. We absolutely steamrollered them at Molineux last year.

Just realised I am away in Italy for my mum's 70th semi-final weekend :( :(

Watched the BBC highlights - Doherty's shot which was deflected onto the post was a superb move - with the Jiminez backheel a delightful part of that - really deserved to be a second

(Plus Dendoncker had a glorious chance - anywhere inside the posts apart from straight at the keeper & that was a goal!)

Either would have made the second half a lot easier to take.

Easy win. Dominated the first half. Got ahead. Second half they had a load of the ball and were toothless.

Nothing clear cut. Plenty of possession but we had the better chances.
