[FA Cup 4th Rnd] West Brom 0-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

If this toxic pile of shite of a match ever rears its ugly head again I expect all pubs in both places to be not allowed to open early and quite probably no away fans or at best bubble matches with the away coached in under massive police escort.

Bring it on though, eh?
Agree, the police couldn't have done more.

Thing is, if Albion didn't do their BOGOF thing there probably wouldn't have been any trouble?

Always the way in these situations: Fellows is a good player but will probably go for £2-3m as clubs know of Albion's financial difficulty and need for cash flow.

I can't fathom why Fellows didn't start or their first choice keeper. Poor by Corberan who I rate as a manager.
Palmer is their 1st choice keeper, but I get what you mean, bizarre decision.

Edit: sorry Sam mis-read, it's early...

There probably would have been outside the ground, there always is, but not inside.

Problem with these games is you always get the 'day trippers' who just go for a scrap.

The pubs will defo be shut as it is easy to pin it on alcohol with the footage of that woman on the pitch completely arseholed.

This does nothing to address Colombian marching powder though

How do you stop coke though? Similarly you'd have to shut all the supermarkets and off licences to stop people drinking cans.

Some of those twats running around yesterday wouldn't have needed coke or booze anyway, they're just cunts who wanted something to put in Snapchat.

It was febrile, hostile and downright ugly
Remove the bottle throwing etc there was a spell where it was proper atmosphere. Close to what happened in the Sunderland v Newcastle game, just noise (although ITV had to keep turning the crowd volume down). However it kind of drifted away as it took until the 2nd half before the "proper"* challenges started flying in that normally keep the crowd interested

There’s no way to stop it, it’s just the nature of morons. Even if off licences and supermarkets shut on the day of games people would just buy the night before or a week in advance.

Pubs opening at 5 and 6 am is just ridiculous though
Agree. Kind of took away the whole point of a 11.45 kick off.

Although if people really wanted to drink they would find a way. Similar to the MK Dons experience as people empty the alcohol aisle at the supermarkets

Not a sniffer dog in sight! Which I found totally bizarre!

I commented on the match day thread after about 10-15 minutes that it sounded like a terrific atmosphere, which it did. It clearly turned ugly at some point, but early on it was loud, it was both sets of fans into it, it was pulsating. Clearly us taking a degree of control started to rile the home fans and after the 2nd goal they snapped (maybe with provocation from our fans in their end).

I was driving and had one can. Which mini knocked over with a beach ball in the car park outside the stadium!

Flipping back to the game briefly.

Odd feeling watching us do what I have witnessed too many times at Molineux in the Cup when were outside of the PL.

Home team will feel they played ok and messed up their best chances whilst the PL team just kept their heads down and picked them off and their quality shone through in the end

Best recent example was when we played Chelsea under Lambert. Had our moments, such as Saville hitting the post but in the end we huffed and puffed and got beat but you walked away thinking "we did ok there" and the Chelsea fans are thinking "that was a bit easy, barely got out of 2nd gear"
