[FA Cup 4th Rnd] West Brom 0-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

As for the police I don’t see what more they could do. They moved the kick off, they increased their presence, they declared the match high risk. They waxed into the trouble and dealt with it when their idiots kicked off.

If this toxic pile of shite of a match ever rears its ugly head again I expect all pubs in both places to be not allowed to open early and quite probably no away fans or at best bubble matches with the away coached in under massive police escort.

Bring it on though, eh?

Not sure how true this is but I was told by someone yesterday last week you could get a membership and buy a Ticket, and plenty of Wolves did.

Police have to look at themselves
When Albion had the South Bank, they did not restrict their tickets, yet we had ours restricted to less than 25%. That was always going to lead to ticketing issues.

Absolutely letting fans have an extra ticket was naive at best Stupid at worst
No, not true. My colleague wanted to take her son and wasn't able to buy a membership.

You couldn’t. However previous members could have bought one.

It’s 15% for cup games. Which we got and they segregated the edges of the Smethwick. There are corners in that stand that are home which was not the case when we gave them the whole South Bank.
It was just what I was told yesterday by a Wolves over on holiday that came in.

We had an Albion fan in pretending to be a Wolves fan, he had no need....

You couldn’t buy a brand new membership just to buy a ticket for this game. I mean come on, how stupid do you think Albion ticketing actually are?

That happened for a night match, been a long time ago, because I went, and I stopped going regularly around 1997.

The M54, M6, and M5 had the inside lane closed at 6:00, and we were escorted all the way. Newcastle and Sunderland game was the same this year, I was surprised ours was not

It's a shame it happened, people should be talking about a professional job done by our team, instead we are talking about everything else.

There really is no excuse for this shit, yes it's Hatred, and Tribal but most of us have friends / relations that support them.

My Albion fan mate and I agreed not to message yesterday, then last night had a message congratulating us. Next pool match against 7 bar, I will get a free pint from Albion Gary, and it will taste fucking great

I would imagine it will be the case in future that coaches will be brought in inder escort and tickets will only be distributed on the coaches at the away team ground.

Hopefully we never play them again so it becomes a moot point

The general consensus from my friends/in laws (who I went to yesterday for dinner and was surprised they didn’t spit in it 😂) was that Wolves did a professional job and didn’t get out of second gear all game.

They’re more worried that the scenes yesterday are going to jeopardise the takeover and they won’t be able to pay the fines. They really haven’t got a pot to piss in as a club and it’s sad to see.

It is really sad, I remember in the 80's Albion fans collecting for us. Sad to say but with the level of Hatred that exists now, I don't see us reciprocating. I laugh all the time about them being relegated to Non League but the reality is Would hate it.

I love the derby, the passion, the rivalry, the way it is, it's proper football, in a very sterilised world in which we live.

They will get a huge fine.

We should take Tom fellows off their hands to ease their woes

That’s the problem they have as well - no saleable assets except probably Tom Fellows. Wallace, Mowatt and Swift wouldn’t get £10m between them. Asante is a League One striker at best.

Plus a lot of their very best academy prospects keep being nicked by Villa for a pittance.

Always the way in these situations: Fellows is a good player but will probably go for £2-3m as clubs know of Albion's financial difficulty and need for cash flow.

Can’t help wondering why he didn’t start.

I can't fathom why Fellows didn't start or their first choice keeper. Poor by Corberan who I rate as a manager.
