[FA Cup 3rd Rnd] Liverpool 2-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

I’m beyond confused and it just shows where the game is when seasoned football fans can no longer understand what is or isn’t offside.
Have they flagged for Collins header? If so is the fact Hwang tried to head and got a touch create a new phase of play?
As some have said the ref thinks it looks off and has told the assistant to get his flag up and then let VAR deal with it.
Reality is assistant view is better and should be trusted.
Problem with VAR is it doesn’t let the VAR official use any common sense.
They’re clearly using proof beyond reasonable doubt threshold.

Toti says he was told at full time that he was "a bit offside"
When Nunes puts in his cross after the Hwang header; he is off...but the Liverpool defender cuts it out (nowhere near to Toti) and we get the ball back and then play the ball than onside Toti....but if that was the one that had the camera angles for it.

I suspect he's flagged for Toti, and then they've just guessed at something to prove a flag was the right thing to do

If it’s Toti he flagged for that could easily be seen by VAR that it was onside. If they don’t think Nunes is off and haven’t flagged for him the goal should stand.
The more you look at it the more it looks like Andy Madley has made a huge balls up.

It’s fucking shit and a right fuck up but the one thing that hasn’t happened is Andy Madley has decided it’s offside.

Don't think ITV even showed a replay of the incident did they?

Looks worse every time I see it. Not even reviewed.

If VAR did look at it and said not enough contact I’d still be fuming the fact they didn’t just highlights the incompetence of Mike Dean who will be in place again this weekend picking up a nice wage.

They’d have checked it but Mike Dean sides with the ref every single time unless you two foot someone to the face. So he’d have one look and then wave it off.

My read is that Dean has seen the little look Cunha gives the defender who is about to foul him and has decided "oh, that means he's just going to dive when the defender arrives".

I like the small amount I've seen of Cunha so far, he makes runs that pull defenders away and creates room, he did it for Adamas chance vs Villa and again in this game, got the assist for Hwangs goal and as said above should have had a penalty. I don't think he's going to be prolific but I think he's going to be a good option anywhere in the front 3.
